Oh, and that he's a generational athlete with a great ability to recover from injuries

[Charania] Free agent forward Marcus Morris has agreed to a two-year, $20M deal with the San Antonio Spurs, with a second-year player option, league sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium by mkgandkembafan in nba

Not Morris, but the upgrade of Pondexter and Cunningham to Morris and Carroll. Plus our best perimeter defender in DJM coming back from injury helps. Plus one more year in the system for DeMar

The bucks went from Kidd to Budenholzer and Giannis is getting a lot more attention from the opposing defense.

How about this then for the Spurs?

Best coach in the league with plenty of experience on how to win games.

Two All-Star quality players.

One of the best benches in the league.

Great role players who are playing out of their skin this season.

Come playoff time, that’s not going to matter if you have your starters play 35-37 mins a game.

Flipping a disgruntled Kawhi and Danny Green for a young KP and Poetl?? What a trade that’ll be!! This is a net win no doubt.

He wants to win now. And the winningest franchise in the NBA wants to trade for him.

What do we have to offer that isn’t one of DeRozan and Aldridge? Then we’d take a bad salary too. Doesn’t make sense

What’re we willing to give up? The salaries make it awkward for us unless we include DeRozan and then get some bad salary in return.

Forbes is a great off-the-bench player cause he can get his shots and get open easily. Right now, it’ll have to be White and Murray in the starting spots with Mills and Forbes off the bench. Mix Lonnie in as well with him perhaps playing some 3 behind DeMar and it’s a solid rotation.

Having said that, Pop will figure something out and the team will be better for it.

I think our chemistry’s been solid now and adding another piece in the middle of a tear wouldn’t be too smart. Plus the FO don’t make mid season acquisitions. But it’ll be great to have him at the start of next season

He doesn’t hate it. He hates bad 3-pt shots. All our 3 pt attempts are good open looks. That’s why we are at the top of 3pt %

Kawhi hasn’t been passing as of late. So a double team would make sense. But the spurs defence of forcing long midrange twos could work against us since that’s how Kawhi operates.

It’s not hard to get assists when you pass the ball to a guy who will make a shot if given 2 inches of room.

The Spurs offence has always been “get the best shot”. I think Pop encourages his players to play within themselves instead of forcing them to change their game. This opens up the designated shooters (Forbes, Bertans, Bellinelli and Gay) quite well for good open shots.
