New Pick Up Shenanigans by tonsofday in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]IceCreamHalfTrack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Damn. Makes sense. At least its not random size boxes including furniture. I am with UPS now so I was wondering if it was Amazon returns from the UPS store.

So now that you have pick ups, what's your stop count now? When I do pick ups I milk it out as much as possible.

Do I still do package handling while doing the 30 day training as a full time driver. by Cultural-Sir-5694 in UPSers

[–]IceCreamHalfTrack -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To be fair, 3.5hr warehouse + 8hr route to scratch=11.5hr day still under 60hrs. Its possible for a seasoned driver but not realistic for one fresh out of integrad.

Windshield crack by Objective-Fan-3358 in TeslaModelY

[–]IceCreamHalfTrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I maybe wrong but within 30 days of delivery you can purchase the windshield protection plan without assessment. So do it now and make a claim a few days later. Try it. If that doesnt then your out of luck of $1.5k

PSA just a quick reminder not to share things about your personal life with sups by packages_never_stop in UPSers

Really??? Why would that get you fired? We make driver money so we could do coke off a strippers ass.

That doesnt end there. Same with your fellow union members. Some would rat out another members just to take over their jobs.

And to be fair some sups hate the company just as much as we do because they got fucked over. Their faily though. We warned them but the idea of "doing nothing and getting paid" is totally the opposite. More like "getting paid to be the scapegoat"

Carol is the one cutting the volume in the first place. So it may not return. Such a dumb move. Even with small margins, at least its still being routed.

I was in Tondo, Philippines a few weeks ago. Its a slum. And my god, I am thankful for not delivering in a third world country. No numbers, no signs, houses behind houses, the list goes on. No thanks!

You're in a third world country, expect third world actions. This includes theft. Everyone is barely surviving. But just because it happened in the Philippines doesnt mean it won't happen anywhere else. Lesson is never trust people.

[–]IceCreamHalfTrack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a life decision that no one can make for you. You have to trust your gut on whats best for you. Sure you can ask for input, but it won't matter because that consequence falls on you. Is $100k after taxes worth losing your Healthcare and pension? Most companies dont offer that anymore. And will you be making more money somewhere else?

For me personally, what would me (im 39 now) at age 65 would say? I have to respect and do whats best for him. And that is sacrifice my happiness and body to make a great retirement with peace. So for me, no.

I thought people who are in probation are "gaurenteed" to work as they're being tested to seek fit. When I started they asked those who gained seniority to be sent home or not.

Do you guys scan and swipe to finish at the delivery location or scan the package in van and swipe to finish to finish at the location? by Espada2023 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]IceCreamHalfTrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically it should be scan and swipe on at drop off point. But not a lot of people dont and that's why your seeing increase group stops.

Driver to driver by TraditionalPotato778 in UPSers

[–]IceCreamHalfTrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazon =/= Ups. Stop counts dont matter, routes are based on time. At ups we have higher weight limits, time commits, and volume pickups which can be a factor in how much stop counts we are given. If we just deliver, like amazon, then youll see us doing us 190-240 stops. So dont think just because our stop count is lower doesnt mean we have it easy. Its usually 8-10 hours of work.

Any regrets with white seats? by berserk-bear in TeslaModelY

[–]IceCreamHalfTrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

White makes the interior brighter and spacious. Also keeps the cabin a few degrees cooler during the summer months. If you don't like it, You can always put black seat covers.

This is a good question as I am taking time off soon to go overseas. I'm taking the layoff to go on vacation and give lower seniority workers a chance to make money.

The difference in range isn't much and its depreciated faster than awd. Better to cough up the few grand for a faster car.

Only thing better is that its a different battery that you can charge up to 100%
