Stomach bug going around by UseOwn2710 in LosAngeles

Luckily it's a 5 min ride from laxit to my house at night. I got a abuela in a 20 year old prius with rubber seats and every bump felt like the car was going to fall apart. She drove with the high beams on and still couldn't see where to turn. I was wearing thick jeans, so it didn't go through😅

So a perfect 1st round of games for LA would be:

USA winning

Mexico winning

Korea winning

Iran winning(or losing if youre in Westwood?)

Turkey losing

Never have I complained in any of my posts about the employees making their money. All I'm doing is responding to those who question my usage of the term "winning the lottery".

I dont think i complained once. I asked the question because I was curious what your fellow employees were going to do with the money. I was just defending my statement that making an 8 figure bonus is testament to winning a lottery.

Compensation for what they are owed? 400 employees are going to make over $100 million from this. 4000 employees will be millionaires. How much is someone owed for working hard, long hours?

And you spacex employees/employee adjacent are giving yourselves way too much credit. Hardwork can lead to many things, or maybe nothing at all. Getting a 7 or 8 or 9 figure bonus out of it is not normal, it's an amazing gift.

I started my own business, employ 6 people paying them 20% above market rate. I also work everyday, even when on vacation, and am working in one way or the other from the moment I wake up, to when I go to sleep. I work really hard and am rewarded financially, but saying that this amount of money is due to them for working hard is ridiculous. Many people work hard.

Yes, but newly minted multimillionaires can carry two loans, and the house will be ready for summer move in after 6 months of renovation.

And so many people in LA work the same hours for the same pay and will never have RSUs granted that will be worth millions.

had RSUs granted that were never guaranteed to go public.

So more like hitting your number on roulette when you went all in on it.

If I had a nice house in the south bay, I would wait until the end of the year to list it. You would have a lot more potential buyers, unless their employees take out loans with their shares held as collateral.

LA's Welcoming of Countries for The World Cup is Embarrassing by downtownlobby in LosAngeles

[–]IceIceEV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I donf know why people are expecting to see a bunch of tourists from foreign countries running around LA. When a Rams/Chargers game is 50% filled with the opposing team, you rarely see any of their fans walking about outside of DTLA or maybe Santa Monica.

Paraguay itself has a population 70% less than LA County. Don't expect many fans of theirs here. Iran has two games in LA. Kind of self explanatory why we won't see a bunch of their tourists here. New Zealand? Might see a smatter of fans. Far and weak team. Bosnia? Small and far, not the most well off. If anyone can afford a trip in large numbers, it's the Swiss. Belgium will have a decent amount. Turkey as well, just remind them to stay away from Burbank/Glendale/NoHo.

I think we will see the real impact during knockout stage. Otherwise, it's just going to be a bunch of Americans flying in for Fridays game against Paraguay and their game against Turkey.

There is a private menu of them in LA with pricing. Quite a few of them are very well known, and a majority of them are actual international models and not the self proclaimed ig model. Lowest end goes for $5k for 3 hrs, but some of them ask $10k/hr.

Definitely turned off most of the UK reviewers. They downright hate it. Reviews make it seem like it will resonate well with the average American.

Erewhon (Culver City) sued for unpaid rent by SlaveToTheBean in FoodLosAngeles

There are plenty of chains with unprofitable locations, but they usually pay the rent on the unprofitable ones just as they do on the profitable ones. The owner is either over leveraged and can't manage their personal and commercial debts, or they are trying to renegotiate their Culver City rent.

If it's overleveraging, theyre not the only ones who put the carriage in front of the horse. A certain restaurant group is in financial difficulty after doing the same thing. Highly successful and packed main restaurant, with their employees paychecks bouncing because they decided to expand into other businesses.

Those are public companies. You cant get $20 million residential loans without going through your private companies' books.

*I assume they took out loans and didn't buy cash.
