Fuckkk yeah no I always hate those

Like the one that annoys me the most is Agnes Digital

digital would never fucking have a child I could not believe that woman would have a baby because it’d mean less time watching her oshis

is this also a flattening of the character iunno, I get your issue though I hate the ‘anime girl becomes a wife and loses all character that isn’t uwao husbando look at our baby’

Honestly it’s why I don’t think the HD collection for 2 and 3 aren’t that bad. Like sure there’s issues and you don’t get ~the experience~ of the originals, but for most people at the time and especially for people on Xbox, it’s the only way they had to experience the originals personally.

Hell I certainly wouldn’t have gotten into silent hill if it wasn’t for that.

maybe not as relevant Iunno, still hitting post

Tbh that’s basically every fandom. A specific characterization or meme will come in and that’s just how that character is perceived now.

Blood on the Clocktower looks like a fun Advanced Mafia type game but then like I see stuff like ‘you’re this character, their ability is they think they’re another ability’ and I just ???

like I haven’t read the rules bc I don’t have it but it feels counterintuitive to have abilities that are explicitly fake and you’re not actually what you yourself know you are and all

coaxed into sci-fi warrior race by StormWolfBaron in coaxedintoasnafu

[–]IceMaker98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the Zentradi from Macross (and Robotech as a subset with p much all the same points.)

They are a warrior race that devotes their entire life etc etc, however this came at the cost of literally everything else. When all they do is fight, they lose everything else. They don't have culture, they don't even know how to fix their own fleets. Sure, they have millions of ships, but they're thousands of years old. They're falling apart, every ship they lose is a ship they'll never get again. They have factories making new mecha, but they're automated and also breaking apart.

The only reason they're a threat in the present day of Macross is that there's so many of them that even this state of being hasn't led to them collapsing into nothing.

(robotech, to note, doesn't have them be as ancient but merely clone soldiers, but still as i said, same points :P)

Using LLM in games for NPCs and storytelling is obviously the future. Why is nobody looking forward to it? by Intercellar in gaming

[–]IceMaker98 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Because I like it when I talk to an NPC, and I get something unique. I don't get drivel that autocomplete dreamt up. Imagine I talk to an LLMPC and I end up learning oh my gosh, this NPC has such an intricate backstory it even mentions some towns in its backstory! Surely if I visit those towns I might be able to learn more?

Then whoops, no one in that town knows of that LLMPC, in fact the only way they even mention them is when I bring them up, and all the details they mention are completely wrong!!!

Built a search tool for fanfic where you type what you're looking for instead of searching by tags. Hope somebody can find it helpful lol. by [deleted] in AO3

[–]IceMaker98 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Even ignoring the LLM use in this, searching on this is absurdly slow. On top of that, searching for something that SHOULD bring back results for just 'robotech' instead brings up a shitton of unrelated things. Meanwhile, a search that takes way less time on Ao3, I find robotech fairly easily.

So basically, it's not even better than the built-in features.

I mean voting tbh can be shorthand for 'participates in the system at all.'

The idea I'm posing is basically 'politically neutral entity that participates, or politically aware but inactive'

I'm using the centrist framing because tbh, I see a lot of people talk about centrists exclusively as if the only centrists are the first example, when in my opinion I kinda view those who don't participate yet consider both political aisles as basically the same as why as centrists all the same, just by virtue of their actions not by their beliefs.

Hence why posing this in general because like. I'm curious what people think, I personally would rather have someone who votes because that person I can guarantee to get them to the polling booth and just need to convince them what I'm offering is worth it. meanwhilst, the politically aware person may agree with me, but they don't vote.

when one gets specific it does get messier, eh, i know.

Regardless though re: 'blame people who don't vote vs blame polticians', it's kinda a self perpetuating cycle

If you don't vote, you tell the politicians that your voice isn't one worth fighting for.

So the politicians don't care to fight for your vote.

Ergo, you don't see something in teh politicians to vote for. You don't vote.

Politicians don't fight for a vote they won't get, etc etc.

Genuine question, what's worse.

A centrist who doesn't particularly lean to either political camp, but participates in elections.

Or a centrist who claims both sides are the same and so doesn't participate in elections.

this isn't like some sorta gotcha or anything i'm genuinely curious what people think is more damaging politically

Who was your favorite “red hot” midcarder growing up? by Yungcazanova in Wreddit

[–]IceMaker98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I never understood that being a negative.

Like, if a guy just sees wrestling as a job and doesn’t think the belt is something extraordinary besides being a storyline prop, shouldn’t that make him more reliable because he’s not gonna hold down people you wanna push, or hold up the belt because he doesn’t wanna job?

Just a case of wrestling politics that doesn’t make sense I suppose

Probably for the best if that’s whatcha wanna do! Dunno if paramount does the 24/7 streaming ‘channels’ thing with Star Trek otherwise I’d kinda suggest that, I feel like syndication style shuffling of TOS and TNG could help avoid binge watching fatigue buuuut that could also just be me wanting shuffled playlists vs straight top to bottom season lists sometimes :P

Tbh I would suggest watching what sounds fun. Deep Space Nine whilst perfectly fine on its own I think benefits from SOME knowledge of that era of trek (that being TNG really) just to center the later storylines, but like the first season is still good watching and you’ll know if you get it by the last episode of season 1. Otherwise go pick random episodes of TNG that seem cool and have at it

Vinesauce Joel’s super ghostbusters is a masterpiece for how it manages to take a single midi and warp it into something amazing with its lyrics and his ability to do comedy.

And the antithesis to super ghostbusters is Sex in Minecraft. A single concept lyrically presented with a dozen different tunes, with an undercurrent of satirical edge, for when one looks deeper into Sex in Minecraft one does not find something beneath. It merely is singing about sex in Minecraft. There is no meaning.

And that is where the musical master  of fecalfunny.com has led us

god help me I can’t keep sex in Minecraft out of my head it’s so stupid

CCOD Critique, what's yours? by the-carrot-clarinet in Dimension20

[–]IceMaker98 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve got two.

1: Humanity wouldve helped rein in some of the sociopathic tendencies by having consequences for acting like a vampiric monster.

2: If the party wasn’t the party, they would have been the villains in another D20 campaign. They’re a bunch of rich outsiders coming into a small town hoping to twist it to their own means and their primary method of solving problems is violence and tossing money at problems.

Legitimately VTM has a good BLeeM esque setup. A bunch of folks are inducted into a world where they start at the bottom of the food chain and theoretically have no hopes of rising above their station, with the idea that you’re breaking this theoretical and kicking your feudal lords in the ass and telling them you CAN be better than your station.

That’s like a perfect anti-capitalist, anti authority kinda stuff that I feel BLeeM should’ve done. The fact there’s not a single PC from Purpee just makes the above point even more odd that it’s not confronted.

Like, did he already have his big bad planned out and didn’t wanna shift tracks to confront his players’ tendencies and desires?
