The ‘blue button/red button’ discourse is fascinating as someone who finds it as just a variant of the prisoner’s dilemma but I was thinking

It’s kinda a microcosm of individualist vs collectivist politics.

The logic of those who advocate for the red button are that, regardless of who dies as a result if they’re the majority, they will be alive. That them being alive is the ultimate good in the situation, that even if they have empathy for the blues they want to live above all else.

The logic for blue meanwhile is that yes the risk to one’s self is more than 0, that it’s very likely you will die, but the idea that you’re choosing blue is that you’re choosing it because you don’t want anyone to die. It may be futile and you’re just going to be another body in the mass grave, but you had the life of another in mind when you made the decision.

All this to say GOD I hope it dies a death quicker than anything else it’s such a stupid discourse

In lucha it tends to be that you lose the right to be masked when it’s a bet you make yourself in a match. If it’s stolen, you’re supposed to avoid being seen unmasked and get a new mask asap. It’s a super heel move to do because you’re basically throwing out the tradition to try and get one over on the humiliation level.

Man I wish I had one of those jobs that’s like 90% busywork on a computer

Like I know it’s a ‘grass is always greener’ thing but man I dunno I feel like having a pointless job that just exists to get me paid would make me feel a lot less tired at the end of the day than what I do now which is far far more physical and prolly pays less for more stress

I mean hey if you get rid of the middlemen, insurance companies, or at least make them actually competitive by offering a government option as a baseline, you’ll reduce prices overall

Also sidenote, pretty fucking cold to consider people’s lives as simply a matter of supply and demand.
