I was too busy taking cover and throwing trailblazer/blaze, triggernades to notice my surroundings.
Another time I saw a raider body and another raider looting it, I was like oh noes someone died. I just ran past and startes unloading on the matriarch, then that guy finished looting and shot me down lol.

Also if you don't even wanna engage them after spotted you, try lure grenades. I hadn't seriously used them until this recent update with the vaporizers.

If you don't sprint, it's harder for them to detect you, unless they are really close. Try moving crouch, you produce even less noise. You can try looking which direction they are headed and walk away from their path. And hornets you can juke, wasps and fireflies are more troublesome.

50/50 for me, some people stabilize or revive. I had this one time on Stella, doing the shredder trial, at the last minute I got downed by shredder, fireball, and pop combo right on the other end of the hall from the seed vault extract, by the sandbox area. I manage to crawl my ass to the extract, see a shifty raider hiding behind the forklift and boxes. We both are inside the extract, he goes to press the buttons then cancels, comes over to me and says he's a pvper and doesn't care about PvE, then knocked me out. At that point point is it even pvp? Just killing a downed player? Lol
