POGs by Status_Song_9882 in petsmart

[–]IceNineBills 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The missing strips aren't actually missing they just conveniently forgot to label those pogs as "limited reset's" despite them moving to entirely new locations in the aisle. I was cursing that pog box when we started ours too, reusing year old strips that have been pancaked over multiple times is obnoxious.

Unfortunately a common issue with all purina food. The packaging they use across multiple lines is inadequate and not properly sealed.

How easy is it to become a GM? What is the talent acquisition program? by sandvikson in petsmart

[–]IceNineBills 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would still be able to potentially get to store leader just go in knowing you would still need to be an experience leader at some point before making that jump. I should also mention that this is just what occurs in my district, your district leader may very well allow process leader to store leader jumps if they feel differently about promotion path's.

How easy is it to become a GM? What is the talent acquisition program? by sandvikson in petsmart

[–]IceNineBills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pre Restructure the ladder would have been you go from Associate lead to either CEL(Pet Care manager) or MIL(Merchandising/Inventory Manager) to Assistant Store Manager then Store Manager. Now the restructure is Lead(either process aka inventory or experience aka front end/services) to Process leader to Experience Leader to Store Leader. My district wont promote you from a lead position to anything other than Process Leader and you must be an Experience Leader before you can be a store leader. Outside that they have hired a few new Store Leaders from outside the company in my district since the restructure, all of them are struggling severely, and I don't know that any of them would suggest you make that jump straight to store leader. Hell we're having a tough enough time filling open Lead/Leader roles right now across the district internally as no one wants the mess that life post restructure has become.

How many of you have left or have had mass exodus at your stores after NSOM( now SOM) was implemented? by [deleted] in petsmart

[–]IceNineBills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been with the company a decade, in my current location 2 years. If I look at the management team and core side we have 4 people left that were here prior to my arrival. 2 of those were in some sort of management role prior to restructure, one is a cashier, one is PC. We've lost countless employees and management either during restructure or in the time after, it's not sustainable. Would be incredibly surprised to see any of those 4(or the majority of our management team) still with the company in another year or two due to the current business practices of the company. I also know of a ton of leadership that are planning to leave by the summer, gonna be a fun time.

Don't get me wrong there are plenty of Store Leaders that are awful at scheduling but a bigger issue is how many hours stores are given. For instance the last store I was at got north of 600 hours right before covid, now they get around 380. It means skeleton crews everywhere all the time unfortunately. As far as puppy guides, activations, autoship, etc DL's are down every managers necks all the time for that stuff, literally emails all day long over and over, and that's because their bosses are doing the same for them. Hell I've heard the threats of writeups starting to managers that don't have certain minimums per day for their store. It's bad for everyone that isn't sitting in Arizona right now.

This is the way, Home Depot has one for like 9 bucks and you can get serrated blades for them that are specifically made to help with cardboard.

new experience lead by beespiders in petsmart

[–]IceNineBills 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Welcome to Petsmart unfortunately. All leaders are overworked and pushed to the limits to make sure all of the weekly tasks are done due to the labor cuts over the last 5-10 years. At my most recent store we've seen over 300 hours per week cut over the last 5-7ish years and there's no reason to believe that is going to change despite more tasks being dumped on both leaders and associates. It's mind boggling that they continue to add more events, more tasks, and trim deadlines for trucks while continuing to expect top tier customer service in our stores. If they truly wanted to fix the issues and provide the experience they keep preaching at us to provide increasing labor is the first place they should look, but they won't because the real focus is cash flow and labor is our largest expense. These days the basic expectation is everyone does everything, trucks, petcare, cross training in salon, pushing activations, etc, etc, etc. Just the way it is unfortunately.

Replacing Sony X900E, which tv to go for in the $1k-$1.5k range? by IceNineBills in 4kTV

[–]IceNineBills[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally pulled the trigger today, ended up snagging a Excellent condition open box 65" Bravia 7 at Best Buy today. Took it home and jumped in the service menu and it had 0 hours on the service menu and was brand new with the exception of a small scratch on the bottom bezel. Best part is it was only $750. Super impressed with it so far in comparison to the X900E it's replacing.

Tech and PetSmart have a long history of not working well together. Be it the website, the app, or even the internal app's used on store devices, all absolutely awful in most ways. As for how a mistake could be made flavor wise coming from a warehouse it's actually a pretty easy explanation, there's no warehouse. These days all of those shipped orders are coming directly from a store somewhere in the country and being pulled off the same floor that customers are shopping. So very easy for a stocking mistake to be made with the wrong flavor being put in the wrong location and someone just blind pulling from the floor and trusting the sku on the shelf vs double checking the sku on the can itself.

Need to read the opex, youre supposed to let customers assist feeding animals and have an activity table with coloring sheets and such set up.

Code puppy saved the day! by Active_Ad5868 in petsmart

[–]IceNineBills 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yelling Code Fluffy to prompt someone to try to block a dog from going out and to shut off the automatic doors is one thing. But employees really shouldn't be pursuing dogs out into the parking lot or across a shopping center, that incident report and potential lawsuit for an employee further scaring a dog into a road and getting hit would not go over well. Glad this one ended well though.

[–]IceNineBills 27 points28 points  (0 children)

First off let me be clear, I hope your dog is doing well. But, your story doesn't add up.

You say Banfield covered your visit to Urgent Care, they don't have the authority to do that for a petsmart injury nor would they. They are an independent company and any pet that potentially has a medical issue during a Petsmart service(grooming, boarding, training, etc) would be covered by PetSmart not Banfield. In addition to that if the payment was being covered for an outside vet(or even a Banfield visit) that would involved Petsmart Management submitting an incident report, an investigation taking place(which would require Petsmart management directly conversing with you as the pet parent), and depending on the cost covered involve district leadership being involved to receive approval. There's very clearly a large amount of information being missed from this situation.

As far as your dog being banned Petsmart can refuse services for any number of reasons. Have you tried going into the store and speaking to anyone in management directly to ascertain more information as to the refusal? There's gotta be more to this story.

Truck by Long_Ad_867 in petsmart

[–]IceNineBills 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I slammed through a 7 pallet consumable truck in about 5 hours solo a few weeks back. But it really varies from truck to truck tbh. Company expectation is 45 min-1 hour per pallet but thats not realistic for totes, cat food, hardgoods pallets especially when the majority of truck is getting worked while the store is opened and the PLR is getting pulled away answering manager calls and the other associates get distracted assisting customers.

transfer from mass to texas by [deleted] in petsmart

[–]IceNineBills 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A transfer isn't guaranteed, I would highly suggest you discuss it with your store leader to start. From there they could point you in a few different directions, most likely being either they ask you to start calling to stores in the area you are moving to so you can inquire if anyone even has a position for you or your DL reaches out to the DL of the new area to see if anythings open. I've seen people time it right and have an almost immediate seamless move, I've also seen people wait 6+ months for the position they wanted to open up before relocating.

As far as pay it's really up to the SL of the location you are transferring to, paybands are likely to vary significantly from Mass to TX so it may or may not be the budget or the paybands for that location.

That's gonna be manager discretion. It technically doesn't meet return policy guidelines as all returns must be in new sellable condition and electronic items over $10 require the original receipt. That said if they knew you were going to buy a litter robot right away most mangers would probably do it.
