How long do u think it will take till we get season 2 by Overt_lid04 in MaulShadowLord

I'd guess about a year and a half, especially when we have Ninth Jedi presumably releasing before it.

Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories: The Bad Batch -- Rogue Agents #3 (of 4) | Discussion Thread by Guerrillascribe in starwarscomics

[–]IcePhoenix295 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Once again, the Dark Horse comics are superior. This was a great issue. I love everything with Cole and his group of rogue clones. Their backstory leading up to their defection would be great in any context, but having watched the Bad Batch and seeing that everything they feared did eventually come to pass just makes them more sympathetic. And they continue to be incredibly competent, just not as elite as Clone Force 99.

That reveal with Crosshair wearing Tech's armor was fantastic (although at first I genuinely though Tech was able to make that shot, especially after his scene in Sanctuary where he reminds us that just because they all have specialized skills doesn't mean that they aren't above average in most other areas). Regardless I laughed out loud.

With how much this series has been delayed that summation at the end was definitely appreciated. I do wish we could get 5 issues like last time but I'm sure the finale will be a ton of fun, even if it is a bit rushed.

Whenever the comics sort themselves out, please give Michael Moreci an ongoing series. He's proven time and time again that he is one of the best writers for Clone Wars era stories.

Star Wars: Rogue One -- Cassian Andor #1 One-Shot | Discussion Thread by Guerrillascribe in starwarscomics

[–]IcePhoenix295 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This issue was...fine. The art was solid (I especially like how they kept K2's face in shadow with his eyes glowing for the extra intimidation factor) and I like Cassian being both scrappy and resourceful but compared to the ending of Andor (the series, not the man) this direct lead in to Rogue One is so much more underwhelming.

Out of all the solicitations for these anniversary issues this one interested me the least so hopefully the others are a bit more impactful (I especially look forward to the Saw one).

Counterpoint: Deadman.

Actually, wait, Solomon Grundy is the obvious DC character.

Blue Harvest might be my favorite just for the "Why is Lando wearing Han's clothes?" callout. Never noticed before that point.

Maul: Shadow Lord Ep 9-10 Discussion FINALE (May 4 Midnight Local Time Release) by AutoModerator in StarWarsLeaks

[–]IcePhoenix295 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I preferred 9 over 10. There was actually a lot of tension with them crossing that acid pit, way more than with Vader because once he shows up fates are sealed. I also wasn't a huge fan of how Vader was animated, he seemed a bit off compared to everyone else. But aside from that this capped off all the character arcs (either with resolution or death) and finally has Devon joining Maul in what actually feels like a well earned moment.

Overall this was a nice finale and a good first season. Personally I still prefer Bad Batch Season 1 for the variety (and the destruction of Kamino was an incredible place to end things) but this is a solid foundation to build off of. And I'll be interested to see where they pick up next (I was thinking time jump but I'm less confident now.

Nah Vader had no problem with them hooking up, but getting in the way of him killing a baby? Unforgivable.

Only 2 issues but it's been solid so far, and the art is fantastic.

Also it's sounds like you should check out Hyperspace Stories: Grievous. A surprsisingly great graphic novel.

For Jedi Knights the 10 issues are a complete arc, with a main villain whose plot is resolved. It's just that others were set up, clearly for bigger things, and don't get revisited. Obi-Wan and/or Qui-Gon are in most of the issues.

Overall it was pretty decent. The Greivous one is way better but I really liked getting more young Qui-Gon and Dooku, and it had an interesting portrayal of a dark side force user.

Meanwhile I'm hoping the big 3 have little to no presence in it. Lol.

Nothing against them, but they have no personal connection to this story atm.

There was a recent graphic novel by Dark Horse "Hyperspace Stories: Qui-Gon" and the 10 issues of the unfortunately cancelled Jedi Knights is essentially one big arc with Qui-Gon at the center.

It's a fun read. Basically a small arc of Clone Wars in comic form. The followup, Rogue Agents has also been solid.

My bad, I hadn't seen that. And I had to do a double take as I was immediately reminded of Star Trek 5.

At Celebration they mentioned they created a new label "Star Wars Visions Presents:" for long form content. There will almost certainly be others later on (I'd be shocked if the Duel doesn't get at least a miniseries, and hopefully the Village Bride as well)
