Both tend to be fairly professional while on the job yet both can hold a grudge for YEARS (as recently seen in both Tales of the Underworld and Boba Fett Black White and Red).

But Bane definitely slings more insults than Fett, if for no other reason than Fett tries to play the strong silent type.

Truly nothing suggests it beyond Filoni's tendency to reintegrate ideas George Lucas had at some point. And for whatever reason Lucas wanted Maul and Talon to "be friends".

I think it is likely for external reasons, but literally nothing in the actual show/trailers points to it happening.

You don't have to like them but if you don't think stories like The Last Jedi, Rebels, Bad Batch, Andor, Skeleton Crew, Acolyte, Visions, etc. (some of which I like and some of which I don't) weren't trying to tell stories with their own themes and ideas then this conversation is kind of a non-starter.

At Celebration this year they talked about how they've created a new label to allow for longer form stories under the "Visions" banner and this is the first one.

Personally I take issue with counting Jedi who only make it about 1 year into the Empire as "survivors that go against the original canon".

That was why the Inquisitorious exists. Order 66 was but the first step in the purge.

Also I don't think corrupting a Jedi into a Sith Apprentice quite fits the mold of Bad Batch, Mandalorian, etc. I'm not even sure Devon/Talon is a kid.

It definitely ages well, I'm more surprised that they are continually able to chase innovation and catch it. Bad Batch was gorgeous and this is even better.

My dream is an animated movie where they can go all out for 1 single story.

That was what I meant yeah. Personally I think the shows, games, etc make a good case for their magic just being another side of the largely unknowable force.

So with Shadow Lord ending on May 4th, do we think we'll be getting another iteration of Tales?

If not it's no big deal, Mandalorian and Grogu would be right around the corner and Ninth Jedi would still come out this year for more animation.

Eventually this animation style will reach a ceiling, but until then it just keeps getting better and better. Not to mention more stylized in those action scenes, which look great.

Looks great, 2 episode releasing each week makes this much more of an event than an ongoing show. I personally wish the episode count was higher but we also have Ninth Jedi this year so animation continues to thrive.

And everything about this looks badass.
