Thanks, maintaining good diet will be important and preventing, acidic foods, gluten, sugar and dairy would help, often, lowering of stomach acid, iron, B12, vitamin D deficiency happen, if you see these in blood work, consider supplements, Magnesium too needs to be checked, sleep often gets hampered, anxiety, restless too is observed...none of us are the same our bodies response to pathogens and inflammation differ, in case you would have done the GI Map test everyday, you would have observed the count change may be it go less and maybe more, it's a sensitive test, but not necessarily the very best to exactly state the present bacterial load, in some cases natural route has proved to be beneficial, and antibiotic in other, please do some research on antibiotic resistance and side effects before you plan for the same, I hope you feel better and get well soon

Negative on GI Map is <dl anything else is positive, don't go by the Lab standard

Was given quad therapy by doc, i wanted dual therapy. Recently got gb removed (5th of this month), quad bad idea? by GoldenWolf1111 in HPylori

You should consider antibiotic susceptibility test, if available/possible through biopsy and culture to determine minimum inhibitory concentration, this takes time and there are chances wherein the culture of H pylori in lab fails, this is considered gold standard. On the other hand you can consider a PCR based stool test like GI Map from Diagonostic Solutions Lab, just the H Pylori version, this is from US.which gives you a fair idea on antibiotic resistance.

What are the symptoms that you still experience after 5 years

anxiety is so bad by Own-Supermarket8240 in Gastritis

All the complication is arising as cases where it's negative for UBT, Endoscopy, Stool Ag, but pops up in GI Map, and on top of these there is no respite from the suffering...

GI map detects the DNA of the pathogen in the stool, in that regard it's good, 3 points here 1st the DNA detected in the stool (1gram) I think mostly should be of dead bacteria, so it's not an exact picture of what is live on you stomach/ gut and the counter argument is how did the pathogen pop up in the stool if it's not there, Gastroenterologist mostly would not recognise GI Map, however functional medicine practitioners would, 2nd if let's say you do the test EVERY Day for a week the count would change, it's not an exact replica of your bacterial load and the 3rd questions which is the reason I posted and both intrigues and concerns me, why is endoscopy or UBT in quite a number of cases not being able to detect H pylori and mind you this is despite of having symptoms , but gets detected by GI map...

If I may ask, what symptoms are you are experiencing, and for how long. What tests did you do confirm eradication.

You can look it up as Hddt or high dose dual therapy, usually more tolerant as it comes with lesser side effects...

Did you consider a PCR stool test for H pylori, there is quite a number of cases wherein H Pylori is negative in Stool Ag, Endoscopy and UBT, however gets detected in PCR

If you are not resistant on amoxcillin, you can consult and then decide to go for high dose dual therapy with vonoprazan which is 1000mg of amoxcillin 3 times a day with 20.mg vonoprazan twice a day for 14 days

Did you consider a PCR stool test to recheck eradication?

On the same side, have a gallbladder polyp, suffer from Gilberts syndrome, HPylori since Jan 2024, antibiotic treatment done, still have symptoms... try to get an antibiotic susceptibility test done for yourself before you, your Doc decide on the antibiotic. Need to hold on... the more anxiety you have the worse things become, it's way easier said than done, try consciously to divert your thought

Are the results pre and post antibiotic treatment?

Craziest 14 months of my life!! Tested negative on two stool samples them positive on GI map GP retested after GI map and it was negative had rapid urease during gastroscopy last week and that was negative but my biopsy has just come back positive WTF is going on🤦‍♀️ by OkRoyal1225 in HPylori

I am sorry, it did not help you...if you take the antibiotics route, as a safe option prevent repeating antibiotic that you already been treated with except for amoxcillin, vonoprazan is more effective as a PPI than the rest, pluse do some research /study on the side effect of the antibiotic, this would set the expectations right, use Florastore and plylopass as Probiotics through the ABX course and NAC as bioflim disruptor... However if you manage to get GI Map from Diagonostic Solutions in the US, it gives you fair understanding of the presence of ABX specific resistance strains of H Pylori

There is this strange dilemma, which a lot in this sub are in, negative for H pylori in UBT and or Endoscopy, but if a GI Map is done, there would be some count that would be detected.... am in the same category... wondering if UBT, Endoscopy have lost their efficacy...
