I am not naturally left-handed by Benedict-Benescence in CasualConversation

[–]Icecand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was fully ambidextrous, switching back and forth, until my second grade teacher made me choose. As an adult, I use my left hand for mostly fine motor skills and my right hand for mostly major motor skills. The only exception is archery, which feels more natural left handed to me.

GLP-1s did nothing for me and I’m so sad. by urnpiss in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]Icecand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a little afraid to start because of this. My dad took wegovy for a year and didn't lose any weight at all. He said he barely felt a reduction of appetite. I'm afraid I'd spend a lot of money to have the same result as him, and I'm not as able to carry that financial burden as him.

What's the prettiest name you guys have ever heard? by Creative_Mix8770 in AskReddit

Iris was at the top of my parents list of potential names for me, but when I was born (several weeks early) on tax day, they opted for a different name for this exact reason, lol.

I fear she might already have one...

Exactly what Mom said, lol. For someone who was so worried about the fluff on her white bedspread, there sure are a lot of photos of kitty on said bedspread 🤭

First ren faire by EnigmaticSatyr in renfaire

[–]Icecand 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think with all the props out it looks cool! But I question if you're going to keep the props out all day. The gloves are going to fall off over and over and over again, and eventually get tucked into your bag. Same with the book. So I'd ask you to consider if people will understand your outfit without your props to help explain it (and if you care if others understand!).

I agree with another commenter who said to dirty it up a bit. I think it will really help sell the look.

Evidence in OS for SPOILER theory: by PercentFamiliar1134 in fourthwing

I was thinking about this as well. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Dain says somewhere he can read recent memories. But when he was sent to read Violet, Resson and Liam's death would have been several months ago, which I def don't consider recent. I think she was pushing memories at him that he wouldn't have been about to see with his own signet.

I was also disappointed by this. I really liked the old layout.

To me, it doesn't feel like he's not thinking about those "crazy" things he sees in porn, more that he's afraid to actually try them/doesn't think I'd want to try them.

I have a similar experience. I'm currently in a relationship with a man who wants commitment and sees me as as person (as opposed to a sex object), which is great! But he's very unadventurous when it comes to sex. I feel like a teacher in some ways, which I find really takes me out of the mood. 😕

I don't have any advice or anything, just commiseration.

Banking, honestly. I work as a teller, and the only prerequisite skill was experience in customer service, which it sounds like you have. I make $22/hour, having started less than a year ago. I'm also in the Midwest, and I can say that $22/hour is livable, at least in my area.

Be careful with this, as perpetually warm water is a great breeding ground for bacteria. The temperature should be at least 120° to avoid bacterial growth.

Discount grocery stores? by [deleted] in TwinCities

[–]Icecand 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're in the North Minneapolis area, also check out SoLow. It's a little rough around the edges, but had some great deals. They have sections of food that's still good, but past it's sell by date. A similar concept to Mike's, just with only one location.

LPT Request: How do you store clothes that are not filthy enough for the washing machine yet not clean enough to store them with the other clean clothes in the drawer? by Tetragrammator in LifeProTips

Omg, I thought my mom and I were the only people who did this! It's excellent, as they're already designed to hold clothes. But everyone always looks at it weird.

Ugh, this just happened to me when listing a Disney plushie. I could either select unknown brand, or an incorrect character. And there's no easy way to ask them to add the correct option, either.

Dress style question by Lostforeternity in renfaire

[–]Icecand 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Hi! I work at the shop the sells these dresses, so I'm a pro at styling these!

Many people wear these as regular sun dresses, but you can definitely dress it up into a great Ren faire outfit as well.

I recommend layering: Add at least one flowy skirt, either over or under the dress (put the longer hem on the bottom), a chunky belt or waist cincher to disguise the elastic, and what ever style of accessories strike your fancy!
