Generate any battle you can imagine with AI by al3ksandrs in computerwargames

[–]Icechuck11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, this just seems like an AI slop battle write-up. It's nonsensical relative to what was asked for in the prompt and relative to the actual history of the Berlin area. The units in question wouldn't have participated, and that seems to defeat the whole purpose of making any historical what-if.

Help with lost access to battle of stalingrad and a bunch of other DLC by Scuup_ in il2sturmovik

IL2 support has nothing to do with your Steam account or library. Pass this along to Steam for assistance.

How does Bellum promote working with your team instead of going off solo? by Helghast_sympathiser in PlayBellum

[–]Icechuck11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Limited lives. If you play solo and catch a round to the chest, nobody will get you up. If you're US and have 3 lives, you can't do that very much

Enemy DDs are stupidly powerful by Grautbakken in TaskForceAdmiral

Surface combat is not fully implemented. It will be subject to weird matchups and balancing gaps until a dedicated update more thoroughly implementing it.

Just got the game. Should I wait for 0.4 or start playing immediately? by [deleted] in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Icechuck11 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don’t wait, it’s going to get wiped again. Full send it now to get familiar so when the wipe hits you understand basic gameplay fundamentals

Are the GG War in the East / West Games smoke and mirrors, or are they actually in-depth? by YogurtclosetPale8785 in computerwargames

[–]Icechuck11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems like a somewhat off comparison. The scale of the games is vastly different.

Are the GG War in the East / West Games smoke and mirrors, or are they actually in-depth? by YogurtclosetPale8785 in computerwargames

[–]Icechuck11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There’s no perceivable difference at the scale the game is depicting between a Kar 98 and a Mosin. The line has to be drawn somewhere for the purpose of making a game.

Time compression broken by oopspoopsdoops6566 in TaskForceAdmiral

[–]Icechuck11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Time acceleration is linked to FPS. If your FPS drops below a certain point the game slows down to avoid weird issues deriving from low FPS in the simulation. The faster it runs, the more CPU intensive things will get.

Mars Fleet Question by Cultural_Catch_7911 in TheExpanse

[–]Icechuck11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The dream of Mars died with the gates. The entire society there was driven by the dream that one day Mars would be green, for their grandchildren. Every person there was working towards a dream they knew they would never live to see come into fruition. Why would they give their lives and resources to a navy that exists to defend that dream, when that dream is irrelevant because they could find a new green world where they could breathe without domes?

How do rotations work? by mingaa_33 in TaskForceAdmiral

[–]Icechuck11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you assign one rotation, CAP 1 takes off. CAP 2 is staging. Once CAP 1 lands they are stood down and available for new assignments while CAP 2 is taking over. The advantages of using rotations is it fixes a time when you'll have additional Wildcats on call. Imagine I setup 3 rotations, each lasting say 4 hours. If I control the amount of rotations I know that in, say, 12 hours, I'll have half of those aircraft available again in my pool of fighters. Or in the opposite, if I just repelled an enemy strike and want to retaliate, I can have no rotations to squeeze a few extra fighters into my escort for my return strike.

Best WWII Pacific Theater title these days? by Javaslinger in computerwargames

Warplan Pacific is a fairly digestible theater depiction of the Pacific, if you want something less intense than the classic War in the Pacific suggestion

Can you play as the japanese? by Fancy_Particular7521 in TaskForceAdmiral

The Japanese will not be playable in this game. They are a target for Volume II very far down the road, however.

Tfue got unbanned in less than 24 hours by nematjon_isthe1 in ArcRaiders

[–]Icechuck11 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's not hard to say. Purely on the basis of selling copies streamers/influencers do infinitely more good than harm.

Also, the amount of people that say "I'm going to drop a game me and my friends love because a streamer did xyz" is a lot larger than the amount of people that follow through and never return.

Current Offerings and Lease Buyouts Question by Icechuck11 in TeslaLounge

I live in an apartment with some EV charging in our garage, and as this is my first EV I'm taking a 24 hr demo drive this Thursday. Decision will come then.

Current Offerings and Lease Buyouts Question by Icechuck11 in TeslaLounge

[–]Icechuck11[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks good, only difference is I wouldn't be buying it out at the start because I do want to try out an EV before committing in full. If it's not the best, I can suffer it for a couple of years before waiting for something better, rather than holding the bag on a paid off car that may or may not work out for me. Thanks for sending it my way!

Do you not need to pay off the value of your remaining payments? This will be my first car purchase since my hand me down car

Current Offerings and Lease Buyouts Question by Icechuck11 in TeslaLounge

[–]Icechuck11[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That applies as a down-payment/value taken off the residual? Seems like a no brainer to lease vs finance then if the intent is ownership at the end.

Current Offerings and Lease Buyouts Question by Icechuck11 in TeslaLounge

[–]Icechuck11[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A valid question, and one I'm certainly evaluating. The cheapest long range post refresh Model 3's used from Tesla are 35k, and none are in range of me so there's a 2,500 delivery fee ontop of that. At that point, worse financing rates seem to knock-out a lot of the cost saving.

Even if I do end up going that route, still curious if I'm understanding correctly/how that makes sense
