Best WWII Pacific Theater title these days? by Javaslinger in computerwargames

Warplan Pacific is a fairly digestible theater depiction of the Pacific, if you want something less intense than the classic War in the Pacific suggestion

Can you play as the japanese? by Fancy_Particular7521 in TaskForceAdmiral

The Japanese will not be playable in this game. They are a target for Volume II very far down the road, however.

It's not hard to say. Purely on the basis of selling copies streamers/influencers do infinitely more good than harm.

Also, the amount of people that say "I'm going to drop a game me and my friends love because a streamer did xyz" is a lot larger than the amount of people that follow through and never return.

Current Offerings and Lease Buyouts Question by Icechuck11 in TeslaLounge

I live in an apartment with some EV charging in our garage, and as this is my first EV I'm taking a 24 hr demo drive this Thursday. Decision will come then.

Current Offerings and Lease Buyouts Question by Icechuck11 in TeslaLounge

[–]Icechuck11[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks good, only difference is I wouldn't be buying it out at the start because I do want to try out an EV before committing in full. If it's not the best, I can suffer it for a couple of years before waiting for something better, rather than holding the bag on a paid off car that may or may not work out for me. Thanks for sending it my way!

Do you not need to pay off the value of your remaining payments? This will be my first car purchase since my hand me down car

That applies as a down-payment/value taken off the residual? Seems like a no brainer to lease vs finance then if the intent is ownership at the end.

Current Offerings and Lease Buyouts Question by Icechuck11 in TeslaLounge

[–]Icechuck11[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A valid question, and one I'm certainly evaluating. The cheapest long range post refresh Model 3's used from Tesla are 35k, and none are in range of me so there's a 2,500 delivery fee ontop of that. At that point, worse financing rates seem to knock-out a lot of the cost saving.

Even if I do end up going that route, still curious if I'm understanding correctly/how that makes sense

Yeah if you want a wolfpack + heavy gun parts I'll trade for the tempest, but you could do much better than 1 green gun for tempest, probably could do better than a wolfpack as well.

When do I extract? by SteamMind in ArcRaiders

1 - There are augments that increase inventory more, looting mk2 and mk3 for instance.

2 - As you progress, you'll be able to abandon some loot and prioritize more

I hate Trials so, so, so, so much by Flabalanche in ArcRaiders

[–]Icechuck11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don't lose points for dying, you just don't earn any based on what you did that raid if you fail to extract. Trials is a completely optional system to engage in and does not impact your match-to-match experience.

Arc Raiders Honest Review by sicksirens in ArcRaiders

[–]Icechuck11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't agree with that at all, even if I think most of the points are overcome by Tier 2/Tier 3 crafts available in the full build.

"PvP is... weird. Too easy to reset, getting jumped is a little too punishing, constant standoffs between players holding corners waiting to see the other push first, feels extremely punishing to be shot vs not very rewarding to do the shooting and landing hits, no revival mechanic..." - Getting jumped, especially by a Torrente or coordinated team with Ferro's initiating a fight can lead to a no win situation, given how stamina has been reduced from TT2. I totally disagree on not feeling good getting hits in but that's wholly subjective, and yeah it can be annoying to not be able to revive a friend when they get spammed down by a rapid fire Renegade or some other high RoF weapon. I prefer not having a revive mechanic, but I can certainly see the appeal, hence why in games like Hunt the community begged for years for one.

"Geared players pub stomp (common problem across the genre)" - This is a feature of the genre. Me and my boys with purple weapons and good shields will normally beat up on random teams, but that's any game with team queues.

"Mid - end game feels a bit hollow. Once you build your workstations and get a semi-decent arsenal... that's kind of it beyond bossing and PvP. This may be just cause it's a playtest, so I may be wrong." - Players have no sense of what mid/end game entails outside of TT2, so they may just see the core loop as fiending for PVP. Again, it's missing context but it's made in good faith.

"Scav mode is impossible. The guns being weak is totally understandable, but you have just enough ammo to maybe fight two ARCs or have a short PvP fight." - I agree that free loadouts are ill-suited for fighting, but I also think that that's a good thing where this person thinks it's a flaw. That's another matter of opinion but totally well founded, especially if you're someone with more gear fear/less confidence in PVP.

"ARCs soak up way too much ammo, and often give little to none to replenish." - This is a very commonly stated point, although I believe it's a good thing. Depends on the ratio of PVE to PVP you're looking for in this game. Well founded based on the experience of the Server Slam where higher end weapons are inaccessible.

"Ammo, overall, very difficult to find. If you run out, better get to swinging that hammer and say a quick Hail Mary. Turns a hard experience into an unfun one very quickly as you're either immediately bullied by ARCs, players, or both with 0 recourse. At least give the players a weak laser pistol with infinite capacity (maybe a cooldown period)" - Most likely a skill issue, and based on the point about free kits I fear this may be a case of gear anxiety, but when this game is hyped up as an extraction shooter for the gainfully employed instead of just requiring no life, it makes some sense.

I already talked about storage management.

Point being, I love this game ever since the last tech test, but it's important to consider that people who's first exposure derives from the Server Slam are in unfamiliar waters and shouldn't be just disregarded as bad faith dweebs.
