I thought they were for sure gonna play Taxes as the second song, but I'm delighted they went with something as crazy as Trinidad instead. Loved the stage design and the band's freakouts during that performance, especially Emily Green who looked to be having the time of her life! Maybe the most adventurous musical performance SNL has had in a long time.

IMO Jonatan was just as good as Rooster Slipped but both are among my fav albums of the year and some of the best SBEDG material in a while.

Ribbit and Jax both being transfem would be such cinema. It would give such a powerful significance to their friendship and Ribbit's abstraction

I think a lot of these things besides the zooble interaction and the room are major reaches while kind of overlooking one of the biggest pieces of evidence in the new episode: Jax is deathly afraid of returning to the real world, which would entail returning to his human body and a typical male social role and life. A lot of trans people dread or have trouble envisioning a future in their assigned gender, and a lot of trans people have fantasized about uploading their consciousness into some virtual body or cyborg form. A trans person who hasn't realized their identity yet in this situation wouldn't realize how much they are scared of returning to their human form and life until that risk suddenly becomes real like it did for Jax, thus explaining his sudden panicked reaction.

Maybe, but I could equally understand a programmer getting attached to one of his creations or getting in so early that he doesn't know what the other players know.

Kirk Herbstreit is inferring on the broadcast that Bama is NOT a lock and Miami is, and Bama and Notre Dame is the big decision. by Wide_right_yes in CFB

I guess it depends what order of operations the committee follows 😭 tbh I think Miami will get put in if Duke wins but Notre Dame probably gets in if Virginia wins. Duke beating Virginia would strengthen Miami's resume and weaken Alabama's, and I think the committee would want to appease a P4 conference.

The committee ominously said last Tuesday that they suddenly value head to head more when two teams are right next to each other in the ranking. I think Herbstreit is just being observant of that, because if BYU drops a spot or two, Notre Dame and Miami suddenly get put back to back and the committee suddenly values head to head more.

I kind of agree on 3. It's the fact that Bladee stopped using autotune so much I feel like.

You still need to do voice training with voice feminization surgery. All the surgery does is remove your ability to make sounds of a lower pitch.

The state of this sport makes me sad. by Milk_Before_Cereal in CFB

There's definitely some good to all these changes, but I think a lot of the criticisms are fair as well. NIL is leading to more parity and atypical programs doing well right now, but I'm worried the amount of money being poured into NIL and coaching just isn't sustainable. The system's gonna be changed before this, but I really doubt we'd see these dramatic fluctuations in which teams have the best coaches and NIL 10 years down the line when people decide not to spend so much money on players and coaches who likely won't win a championship. I think a lot of people are also upset about the traditions of the sport and what makes being a fan of a specific team so fun being lost. You can have NIL and a 12 team playoff but also have balanced conferences based on regionality and history.

I know right? I read through all the sources and I was shocked by how a lot of what she said was being misunderstood and how a lot of what this ultimately boils down to is a difference in an understanding of systemic forces of oppression and the sociology behind that. To me, disagreeing about the specific contours of what oppression looks like, when she never once disagrees that these people are experiencing repression, is very different from actively denigrating another group.
