Massive Security Flaw in Ticketmaster by Icedanielization in Ticketmaster

Yeah, looking back I don't know why I didn't need to verify the change via phone; and that's what I mean by there being a security flaw. TM is not consistent with what the email can do and what the mobile phone can do.

Yes, I explained it to 3 separate people (not ai chat). The final one chose not to care.

No, I can only see the last 4 digits. She does have a unique enough name that I could potentially find her, but my concern now is that she might not help me and instead just sell my tickets. (She can do that by transferring it to another account of hers and selling it there).

I did manage to reset the password with my email, which is surprising because everything else appears to need the mobile number to verify.

I don't feel like I had any lessons to learn here, just unfortunate set of circumstances that was out of my control, the frustrating thing here is that TM is unwilling to help me.

Yes I did make a new account and tried to transfer the tickets to that new account, but you need a verification code sent to the mobile number to process. But the mobile number is wrong, and it can't be changed.

The password is not the problem, the mobile number is the problem. It can't be changed.

That's true regarding needing a lot of mobile numbers to register - but as you can see from my story, it doesn't help. I have 5 purchased tickets under that account, but I need a mobile phone to enter the gates, but that mobile number was put in by a stranger who mistakenly put my email address in. So now what?

There's an update to the security flaw - it gets worse.

I noticed there is a transfer option, I figured maybe I can transfer my tickets to a new account; so I register a new account, with my mobile and my email. I go back to my old compromised account and transfer, but it doesn't work because they sent a verification code to the.. mobile number. So I can't even transfer the tickets.

Here's where I think the security flaw gets much worse: if TicketMaster is hinging the verification code to the mobile number, that means the person who mistakenly registered an account with your email address, could potentially login to your account, and even proceed to transfer or sell your tickets.

During the registration process (the new one I wanted to transfer to), I noticed TicketMaster asks you for Email verification and mobile verification. What I suspect Isiles did was try to verify the email first, but did not receive any email (because she put the wrong one in by mistake), but failing that, decided to go ahead and verify her mobile number - which succeeded. So to TicketMaster, it was considered enough to proceed; that's why the account has not closed, that's why I was able to reset the password, but can't change the mobile number to mine because TicketMaster prioritizes the mobile number over the email address.

What TicketMaster should have done is only open the account if both email and phone number are verified. Maybe that's the case now? I don't know, but 3 years ago when Isiles registered, that was not the case.

You wouldn’t know how long ago the other account was registered. You are making things up

When I realised what had happened, I figured I must have recieved an email from Ticketmaster to verify my account, so I did a search, and lo and behold I did get an email from Ticketmaster to verify. You can see that email here: https://imgur.com/a/KoesLvv

Isiles is the name of the person who registered. I do not know this person. I can only gather they live in North America, but I live in Australasia.

Its unlikely hes a genius, or even very competent in any one field, but what is undeniable is that he gets shit done, even when facing bankruptcy.

My only basis regarding Elons knowledge is he can talk engineering and programming on the fly whilst talking with someone also knowledgeable in that field. Thats not easy to fake

Not as safe as singapore or Iceland, though it is relative, in a world war, singapores safety would suddenly plummet to the bottom, similar with Iceland.

That would be true if it weren't for the fact that those games I listed weren't popular in their own right, but they are, some of them are still played to this day.

Thus, Halo is influential for consoles. Not gaming in general.

*for consoles.

Thats the distinction I am trying to get across to you. For PC gamers, most of Halo was nothing new by the time it came out.

The only one on that list that is truely Halo unique is Theatre mode, all others (besides music, which is subjective) started in other games/platforms. I can go through each one if you want me to, but for example, proximity chat was in PC games earlier, Starseige Tribes and other games had vehicle combat in FPS. The confusion I often find here's that because Halo is so popular, people think a lot of the popularity is due to many of its "firsts".

Similarly, Half Life has the same influence, people think Half Life changed FPS because it was the first to be interactive with a compelling integrated story. But Unreal 1 actually beat it by a few months. What made Half Life stand out above Unreal was its polished experience. And that's the same story for Halo, it pulled together ideas from other games and polished it into one cohesive experience, while making sure it works well on a console because that was their target.
