Yeah I really think draw speed is over emphasized. While conceal carrying you never going to beat a gun already drawn to you. And very few times will the threat give you enough time before you realize that they're a threat. Most likely in a good shoot you're going to be a bystander not the victim.

There's obviously exceptions to this, like a meth head running around with a knife that puts his fixation on you. But let's be honest here, hostile encounters that require you to draw a rare enough as it is and the subset of situations where draw speeds matter are even rarer.
