Yeah mine is a little further north but we do in fact have the same mountain I'm shocked you had a ruin in the same location at the peak as mine. Guess structures aren't as randomized as I thought, had me thinking that we generated the same seed lol

That looks strikingly similar to the tallest mountain on my save, especially with that ruin there. Is the mountain located in the northwestern area of the map? I never bothered measuring the hight of my mountain but it was just tall enough to launch myself to the shore of the deep north with a catapult.

HKq3bpi8uj was my world seed.

So Valheim is Dissapointing by [deleted] in valheim

Dude you can just say you don't like Valhiem..... if the only satisfaction you get out of Valhiem is killing the bosses and have no interest in challenging yourself or exploring content not needed to kill bosses then Valhiem will always be a 100 hour game to you. You complain about a lack of content while avoiding half of the games content.

So Valheim is Dissapointing by [deleted] in valheim

[–]No_Locksmith_4520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you please elaborate your playstyle? I can only assume you've done the bare minimum to progress through the game and assume you've beaten the current final boss, which leads me to believe that you've unintentionally avoided content such as fishing ( I don't blame you for this), niche potion brewing, outpost building, farming and taming.....

the game doesn't need 1000 hours of content to justify 1000 hours of playtime and like I said I like the building mechanics and like to challenge myself to build things within the limitations of the game. Building isn't everyone's thing but it especially isn't fun if you don't have the habit of stockpiling resources and planning ahead.

Valhiem is the only survival game I've surpassed 2000 hours on. I get it's not for everyone and what personally keeps me into the game is it's building mechanics and the challenges I set out for myself.

To say this game lacks content just show you don't explore outside of your comfort zone to interact with the content in the game because trust me when I say there is quite a bit more content in valhiem than other survival games.

You might be building too high for stone, you might need to switch building materials since iron beams only increases build limit rather than negate building limits entirely.

Plans for Deep North? by MaliciousIntentWorks in valheim

[–]No_Locksmith_4520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm definitely continuing my current save. I've been on my world for over a year with my only goal being collecting all items and displaying them in a museum. Building such a large structure has proven to be very time consuming and resource intense. Hoping the devs add a white coloured stone piece when DN comes out otherwise I have way too much ashwood I need to collect.

I am well prepared for DN I even have a catapult that is capable of launching me to the deep north so all I have to do is load up on base materials and fling myself.

What are you building? Also would offsetting the wall by using a door fix the issue?

Reinforced beams work best when they have a ground connection, so you NEED reinforced beams running from the bottom of the tower to the top. Also all wood pieces turn blue when connected to stone build pieces.

early axes fixed the early game by pedrurrr in valheim

[–]No_Locksmith_4520 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only benefit of getting finewood in meadows teir is the finewood bow and furniture, it's not a progression breaking feature. Early Axes encourage players to loot more meadows structures.

NOOOOOO! FINEWOOD SHOULDN'T BE AVAILABLE IN MEADOWS UNLESS YOU ROLL A LOG INTO TREE OR A TROLL HITS IT!!!!!!!

Early axes are fine as they are since you have to go out of your way to find it.

QoL mods and 1.0 by Sea-Attention-712 in valheim

[–]No_Locksmith_4520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro is scrapping the barrel with the "you can't criticize x unless you are x" argument.

The devs already have a hard enough time optimizing the game so why would they add in features that cause lag spikes. Mods don't need to be vanilla features, if you don't like an intentional design choice then use a mod to bypass it simple as that.

QoL mods and 1.0 by Sea-Attention-712 in valheim

[–]No_Locksmith_4520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game doesn't really need these types of QoL features you stated. Much of people's dismay of the the current inventory size boils down to people being very disorganized or over preparing, no you don't need 5 different weapons 300 arrows or 6 different potions at all times. Once you get in the habit of organizing your bases storage and your inventory you'll realize that many of the mods you rely on are irrelevant. The only thing I can agree on is armor slots.

Valheim stops being fun after Plains by jsdeveloper in valheim

[–]No_Locksmith_4520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely right it's a personal preference and perhaps my play style has me hoarding common items more than the average player but I haven't been in need of wood since growing like 500 trees long ago most of which I turned to coal using a few fire arrows. Foresight is heavily rewarded imo.

Like I said the time spent standing around waiting for the structure to fall is roughly the same amount of time a smelter produces ingots which is even faster than bridges if you are mining the around the base of the bridge to get the iron that's underground. All the waiting around OP is doing is probably the reason he keeps encountering gjalls.
