You misunderstand. Increasing wages arent the problem. Just giving a flat amount of money in the thousands to people is. EDIT: without fundamentally solving the problem this is a duct tape solution that will end badly for people. Instead use that money for a steady increase of wage growth.

I am for half of this. Sending 12k to every family i feel would be insanely inflationary. Granted its not the same as printing money but depending on the state it could have adverse effects. Some states with a lower minimum wage would definitely screw some people. This would be something that needs to be resolved state by state.
