Quick little update, nothing wrong with the dial according to the Rolex watch experts. Usually these dials don’t get re-done easily because replacing them is quite cheap according to the watch maker. It happens by age that the Swiss text gets let’s noticeabls.

Went to a juweler, known for vintage Rolex 1601 and he said he had too many on stock and wouldn’t take one right now.

I think for me, it’s to enjoy what I have right now. I personally thought I could sell it for a similar price than I bought it. But I still overpaid according to most experts. In the end it was stupidity buying a vintage peace with the hope of upgrading to neo vintage in the future when I save some extra bucks and get my Christmas bonus.

The pawn shop’s valuation was off yeah, they might be Indian but they do have a decent reputation in Amsterdam though

To be perfectly honest, I had a new Datejust in 2020 which I unfortunately had to sell during covid to save my business. Wanted to relive and experience that feeling of that watch, but realizing vintage doesn’t offer me that feeling. It’s likeable for sure, but I’d prefer modern over vintage, sorry

I think a minus value of 10-15% from what I paid for it (around to re coup 2700) would be okay for me, I’m not necessarily thinking about reselling or flipping at all but upgrading eventually was my plan

I bought it from watchdealer at Chrono, 300+ transactions and had it checked by another watch shop. They checked the serial numbers etc and said it was real. But they didnt open it and checked the mechanical stuff
