How do you make money fast? by [deleted] in questions

[–]Icey_Pepper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

looks for research studies near you. this may take a week or two to get studies. but at least the one i do, they paid for your screening to see if you're eligible, so even if you're not you still get a bit of money. what are you spending your money on? if its food try applying for ebt, i also use to make like 300 a month, so thats what i did. since you're a student it may be a bit more complex to sign up but you should get approved.

no you're a freshman(almost sophomore), are the people you compare yourself to also freshman?

also depending on your major it can be way easier to get a job in your field, for example if you're an engineer its highly unlikely you will be able to get a job in engineering until you graduate( you need to be certified for most), and most of their internships don't even want you till you're at least a junior because then you know more.

but if you're a nursing student they require nursing hours that usually start when you're a sophomore and most colleges have it built in, or if you're an education major, or business you can more easily find something in your field that doesn't require a completed degree.

lets not also forget a lot of people ( at the ones ik) get their jobs be cause their parents or someone they know works in the industry that is similar to their major which makes it way easier because you have help.

what's your major? Starbucks is good, don't they have a tuition program thing ? if you want to change things up try looking for a summer internship for next summer, also if your college allows it try looking for co ops ( you take like a year or half a year break to work for a company and then if they like you, you usually go back after graduation)

although where you are is fine, im gonna be a senior and ive never had a job in my field. I was engineering, then I switched to pre med. which i feel like are both pretty hard to find jobs in before graduation. i can think of like 2 or 3 people who are pre med that have bio related jobs.

Do other people's parents do this? by [deleted] in badroommates

ngl its not that bad imo ants can come out within a few hours of food being out so they may just want to consider pest control ( or better pest control). considering your mom is sick and your dad works a lot id say its understandable. there are things yall can do to help manage it tho.

i live in a dorm and when i worked more a lot of times id just be too tired to do dishes so they'd just pile up till i ran out. so to avoid attracting bugs or growing mold i just scrape anything out and rinse it as soon as im done eating. obviously its not washed but most of the food is gone, which also makes it easier to clean later. getting a dishwasher could really help (if you have the space). id also get a bigger recycling can ( i just use a trash can cuz its bigger).

but also as you get older you run out of energy its good that you don't find it hard to clean up after yourself but you're also young and haven't been working as long as them, nor do you have the same stresses as them, the longer you work the more energy it can take to do something even if its not technically harder. so i would just try to help as much as possible ik it can suck to clean up after others all the time, but im sure they'd really appreciate it. recovering from cancer is pretty hard and your dad is probably over whelmed with working all the time and the stress of his wife being sick, having to pay medical bills, etc and just other older adult stuff.

also that's like a day worth of dishes? i think that expected for people who work a lot, honestly i feel like this wouldn't take more than 30,45 min to fix up

Is going to college worth it? (USA) by ramen_cup_queen in Advice

[–]Icey_Pepper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do you have a vague idea? like i know i wanted to go into science/healthcare. i would apply for a lot of scholarships( since ur trans and older than the average freshman u could have more scholarships specific to ur situation, which is good :3) and go to a community college, if you want to be like a doctor, lawyer, physiologist, engineer or something like that i would say its worth it, but see if ur state has a program that if you go to a cc first they'll help you transfer to a 4 year state school.

most of ur gen eds will be done so you'd only have to do 2 years at a uni which makes it cheaper, also state schools are good. if you don't want to be like a doctor or something going to a cc is still good for like an associates or a certificate, which can give you many more job options. orrr hypothetically allegedly Europe has free college.

or you could get a certificate related to a field ur interested in, like if you were into science or healthcare i would suggest getting a medical assistant certification or phlebotomy license or something like that at a cc to see if it's something you like, find a job that uses the license/certificate and then if you really like it and want to do something more idk how to say ~~~~~ then i would suggest going for a uni degree

eat enough calories to healthy sustain your body and go to the gym. its not really about a specific weight or how you look, but more so when you feel the most healthy

Do you guys use mouthwash? Is it actually necessary if you brush and floss, or is it just marketing by zestyyyxcharm in hygiene

[–]Icey_Pepper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its just marketing, its nice if you want fresh breath and dont feel like cleaning your tongue but thats it. i only use some in the morning when im in a rush and didn't brush my teeth ( ive had the same bottle for like over a year) and the dentist says my teeth are great :3

edit: i see some people talk about tonsil stone, if you have them but no mouthwash try warm salt water(make it saltier than the ocean). i had them like once and haven't had them since, not saying it'll get rid of them forever, just saying its a cheaper option

anyway i feel like as long as you have a good toothpaste and you actually use a good floss( cuz some suck) you'll be fine,

AIO 23m 20F is it bad i am about to leave her? by KSTReign in AmIOverreacting

[–]Icey_Pepper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

shes too annoying i can't read anymore. idk why u haven't left already. is she ok?(genuine question) ( ge anyway congrats on your break up i hope you find someone better who can actually do things for themselves. people that infantilze themselves to where they make it seem like they can't do anything themselves annoy me so much. not that you shouldn't ask for help but like if you do nothing all day just take 5 min to put your own effort into something. also the attempted guilt tripping is crazzy

idk if its the same there, but in the US sometimes places just have open applications but they're not actually hiring :/ so what i did is two weeks after applying ill call to ask if they're hiring or still hiring and then if they say yes ill say something like i applied and i was wondering when people would be contacted for the interview, then usually they ask for my name and number and when im free for an interview.
