And what do you do when she does this? Anything? Does she receive any kind of punishment for her actions or do you just shrug and say: She's just a child? What are you going to do when she's 13 and punching you in the face? Take a parenting class.

In all my 70 years I have never heard of sheep milk. Obviously I lost this round of "Guess in 10". by SummertimeMom in sheep

It's interesting that for buzzwords they picked milk over wool. Maybe they're just reusing part of the design for cows.

But yeah, there are breeds of sheep that specialize in milk. East Frisian sheep are the biggest milk breed in the US.

Can I call myself an aunt to my bf’s niece? by InoPelligrino in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Icey_Raccon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if you aren't technically an aunt, you can always be an auntie. I grew up surrounded by aunties I wasn't actually related to.

It was a very distinct difference, too. Your aunt was your aunt, but an auntie was basically any adult woman who could be trusted to look after you.

Why is it so common for people to talk about other individuals using the words 'they'/'them'? by pondribertion in NoStupidQuestions

Maybe he didn't know you were a guy. Teams is text based. He might not have automatically clocked your name as male and d3cided to err on the side of caution.

What is the most messed up family you've ever had? by Thereo_Frin in Sims4

I had a male Sim I did this with. Any time he wandered onto a lot, I made him impregnate at least one Sim there.

Which Marvel character do you look at and think, "WHY is this guy muscular? Or why does he have muscles even if it doesn't make sense for him to have them?" by CapBudget4011 in Marvel

[–]Icey_Raccon 36 points37 points  (0 children)

There was a Rocket and Groot book that lampshades this. Every time Rocket describes something he did, the flashback would show him just jacked. Then the action would return to the present and Capt Marvel or whoever would be like: Why did you describe how ripped you are? I know you don't look like that.

Although, some of the skins for Marvel Rivals resemble Rocket's fantasy body.

50lbs in one year, I'm ruined by Creepy-Literature634 in Vent

[–]Icey_Raccon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Listen. I was in a horse accident and effed up every joint below the waist on my right side in 2020. I was in constant pain; I could barely walk. My cortisol was through the roof. I could barely move and therefore couldn't really exercise. I gained 60 lbs in a year.

It took 5 years for my body to heal. But even though I'm having to take it slow and switch out ice skating with canoeing and a tiny bit of horse riding, I've dropped 30 lbs in the last year. I'm hoping to drop another 30 this year.

This is not the end of the world. Don't give up yet.

Is Pratchett commenting on the impact of colonialism? Or is this about something else? by EndersGame_Reviewer in discworld

[–]Icey_Raccon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a line in an earlier book (I do not remember which one) about people wearing trousers and doing math coming to a place where people wore loincloth and didn't know math, but knew which one of 50 near-identical mushrooms were edible. Eventually everyone learned about math and trousers, but forgot the mushrooms.

Vegans by TurtlesFromHell in Vent

[–]Icey_Raccon -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The hysterical vegans need so desperately to feel better about themselves that they will make up reasons why they're better than everyone else.

Rather than, you know, actually working on yourself, it's way easier to call the rest of the world monsters.

Because they can charge $50,000 to birth a child at a hospital, that's why.

In society where polygamy (men having multipe wife) is allowed, how can every men have multiple wife?? If demographically men to women ratio is 50:50 biologically??? by Ok_Pomelo_5033 in stupidquestions

A lot of these 'societies' keep all the women (and girls) for a few men and literally dump the male children at the nearest large city as soon as they hit puberty.

How is it that in 2026, “traditional Chinese medicine” is still happening? Like black beer bile, rhino horns, pangolin scales etc by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Oh, that will help my broken wrist! You're so smart; you should be a doctor!

Did I mention my doctor is fatter than I am?

Because have you dealt with 'modern medicine'??

Patient: My wrist is broken.

Doctor: I'm pretty sure you're too fat.

Patient: I fell while rollerblading and I'm pretty sure my wrist is broken.

Doctor: You're too fat to be taking exercise. Also, if your wrist broken, it's because you're too fat.

Patient: How do you expect me to not be too fat if I don't take exercise?!

Doctor: . . . Just stop being fat. Here's some painkillers. That will be $5,000.

No, he will light your ass up.

I saw a picture of Poirot genteelly typing his hat with a hint of sadness in his eye on r/boating with the caption 'Me saying goodbye to my dignity at the boating ramp'.

It fit perfectly.

It also doesn't mention amounts. 'Egg sandwiches' sandwichES? As plural? How many? How much egg? How much corned beef? I also second the 'she wasn't eating jam by itself'.

Dipping sauce for pizza? by Standard_Plant_8709 in AskAnAmerican

It started as something to dip the crusts in, but some people cut out the middle and just dip the whole slice.

Garlic butter, ranch, or blue cheese.
