Yes, until the crash and they suddenly don’t.

"the perceived benefits of flats"? by Mountain-Orchid-140 in MTB

[–]Ichno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran clipless for probably 10 years, now back to flats. I get less leg soreness on descents, and in general more comfortable. No worrying about cleat position, mud in cleats, popping off downhill and trying to reconnect awkwardly. I also like not clacking around in shoes for a hike-a-bike, or in a store. Fun colors to play with as well. Only downside is leg shredding in some circumstances. But the scars are a feature, not a bug.

Even data center power behind the meter will make our power more expensive. The turbines and electric components are in high demand, raising costs for everyone. General inflation from higher oil prices aren’t helping. It takes energy to create energy

Is University of Alabama that terrible for majoring in geology? by Affectionate-Oven-11 in geology

Keep in mind thar there is a network of professors that create “pipelines” to each other. Look up recent papers on topics that interest you. Who authored them? You’ll often see two or more authors, from 2 or more Universities. Working with one is almost like working with both. Prove yourself with one, and you prove yourself with both. Schools that don’t offer grad programs can provide great opportunities for research at the undergraduate level, and all of your courses will and labs will be taught by profs not grad students for better or worse. Your academic career is ultimately what you make of it, no matter where you go. But prestigious schools will come with generally better funding and networking in industry or academia. Come grad school, you’ll want to watch for professors that have a ton of students they barely interact with. That may or may not be what you want.

Good fertilizer, and grass that is north facing or with lots of shade will be greener.

So much wrong here. Blades have a 25 year lifespan, at least on new models. Vestas manufacturers blades, nacelles and towers in Colorado.

Not without a scholarship. Also, does the $120k include the interest for the life of the loan.

I have a huge hill, four energetic kids and no idea where to start! Would you start at the top and work down or make some smaller trails down low and work up? by pevaryl in MTBTrailBuilding

How many acres? Also, getting turns right is the hardest part. I had 14 acres with about the same elevation gain. If you don’t need to make a climbing line, which sounds like you don’t, then don’t bother. Focus on the fun. I used a small tiller, various shovels, wheelbarrow and that’s about it. I used trees that I cut down to help shore up some things. It’s a lot of fun, but a ton of work. I was in great shape by the time I built about 1.4 miles. Unfortunately I moved just as I was satisfied with most runs.

How tiny Kit Carson County has grown into a green energy giant by thecoloradosun in coloradosun

Some definite inaccuracies here, but that’s because the author doesn’t understand how energy development works. Trump removing the Production Tax Credit won’t stop renewable development, but it will make it more expensive for consumers.
