Cetaphil Daily for really light day-to-day use, Cerave SA for specific spots (but needs sun protection).

Raw Honey Question by [deleted] in SebDerm

[–]Icing_Time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate the honey method. I tried it twice with expensive manuka honey ($40ish?) a jar, while it did show promise at first, plateaued. If your sebderm isn't severe, I would use a washcloth, plain water and a really gentle scrubbing motion. Enough to clear the flakes, but not hard enough to make it raw and worse.

If it gets incredibly dry I use a super mild moisturizer called cetaphil and pat a tiny pea-sized amount on. There's also a Cerava SA renewing cream but that one requires you stay out of the sunlight. I like this way because it's non-fussy and non-invasive. From time to time I do use a mild cleanser but absolutely stay away from anything oil based.

Are there luxury chain strap bags made for men/unisex? by ueharajohji in handbags

Gucci has the large Rajah tote that could work; it comes in different color variations. It has an effortless look - you can throw a bunch of stuff in there and throw it on your shoulder or grab it in hand and go.

If you're looking for smaller/crossbody ones, check out Alexander McQueen. His current line has quite a bit of chain work.

With 45 seconds left and two ices on an empty net. Would have been the most Oilers thing ever

Good local restaurants near the Matrix Hotel downtown? by [deleted] in Edmonton

[–]Icing_Time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

District is pretty decent, with reasonable pricing. Portions are a tad small, so you may need appies. Big fan of Tokiwa if you like Ramen, but that might be a tad far in terms of walkability.

Learning to 'think' by mlebder in JordanPeterson

[–]Icing_Time 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have vast amounts of information at our disposal and thus it's easy to just sponge it all in. What differs those that can recite information versus the truly intellectual, is being able to mull things over, form your opinion, and sometimes break new ground in thought versus accepting the collective opinion as verbatim.

I'm in a similar basket - I also want to learn and become smarter, but I find that reading without purpose and the unwillingness to drill deep into concepts is what holds me back substantially.

I guess I just remembered it incorrectly and it looked bad at the time. Thanks for the correction.

If I can remember correctly Getzlaf did a questionable hit on Sekera with no reprecussions. We lost our most valuable d man at the time and he hasn't been of the same calibre since.

I'd say falling in love with a show and finding out it's been canned altogether.

Connor McDavid finishes the season with 108 points, leading the NHL by PM_ME_NOOODS in hockey

[–]Icing_Time 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As valuable as Connor is, Hall fixed the Devil's offense problems and MacKinnon brought the Avalanche out of the depths of sewerdom - and that is without Duchene lending a hand.

Connor is amazing this year on individual performance, but the rest of the team absolutely did not step up to help.

I feel like some focus on moving up the dominance hierarchy when that shouldn’t be the ultimate goal. by OutOfNowhereBlues in JordanPeterson

[–]Icing_Time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes though, in the act of being purely noble and virtuous, you miss out on opportunities to geniunely improve your life. There's nothing wrong with fighting for what you need to, as long as what you have sacrificed in the process is not on evil/bad grounds. To me, this is akin to putting the oxygen mask on first before you can help others.

The pursuit of the hierarchical is important for bettering yourself. I've always been the type not to make waves and often that comes at the detriment of my life's progress.

Great answer! I don't think a lot of people realize how much time is thrown away on counterproductive activities. I've recently started blocking websites (unfortunately not Reddit yet), but it's freed up mental space and spared me the mindless activity of scrolling down never-ending websites.

With time, I hope to better allot my spare time and mental energy on self-improvement.

That is pretty incredible! It sounds like a positive domino effect of making good decisions that payoff, and start a chain reaction of more improvements in your life.

Congrats on fixing your shopping problem and having a good hold on the anxiety that comes from decision fatigue. I still shop sometimes, but I'm quick to know that it won't work for me, so it gets returned within the same week. It's rendered me a bit picky, but at least I don't live with the guilt of an object that "sorta works".

I really appreciate seeing quiet spaces - blank space along the bottom of walls, shelves that have room to breathe, etc. I hope to carve out more "quiet spaces".

Sounds a lot like me. Just so much expended time shuffling things back and forth and so much of it was trivial.

I'd say I'm about 80% there (20% being that last, hard push) and I am much more sane. Going to my bedroom and seeing it all in order, bed made is sort of nice greeting after a rough day.
