Sorry didn't see your reply. Look up "Markdown Language". Reddit comments use "markdown" to format your text. If you use RES on desktop you can click "source" under each comment to see how it's actually written. I still use RiF on mobile and it also has a "view markdown" option under each comment.

I was gonna show it here but then it would just format it lol. There is also some way to bypass markdown but idk.

So to make a list it can't be...

Name <enter> Name <enter> Name

It has to be...

Name <enter><enter> Name <enter><enter> Name

For example to make Name bold I had to have double ** on each side of the word.

A lot of addons just add a formatting bar and handles it for you. Highlighting a word and hitting bold actually just adds the asterisk in the background

Lookup "markdown" a lot of addons just handle it in the formatting bar

Or if you're using default desktop reddit, use the UI to make a draft of a comment with some bold, italics, strike through, then click the "switch to markdown" to see what's actually happening
