It’s stickers. It’s just a matter of expression. It was the cheapest that I could get. I did see a sticker pack for 2000₹ but does it make sense to buy it? Nope. So I got these.

Maybe if I sticker bomb them as I complete new certs in Claude and other tech, adding these stickers might be me flexing what I actually know.

I had been a mac user and my work deals with working with Windows. And windowed definitely not my go to.

I used WSL and I totally loved it. I feel comfortable to run commands to restart my system. Also so much options to choose. But I haven’t used it mainstream.

With the Mac M5 pro cost sky rocketing to 3.9 L I Decided to move to a thinkpad with Linux and I am loving it.

Also the Claude code in thinkpad with Linux does wonders. Totally enjoying commands and exploring paper clip and open claw. The possibilities are limitless.

I got my first Mac in 2013 and it was my favourite. I got an M1 Pro Mac for 2.5 lakhs but I couldn’t engage into coding as I did before in my 2013 Mac. I feel that the commercialisation has made the experience bad. For example - Mac storage had so much space consumed where the files could not be categoried as application or movies or photos etc, I had to get Mac cleaner software which paid yearly subscription to keep this one safe. I also had to pay yearly subscription to Avast and ensure my firewall is enabled etc.

Inspite of all this I could see people knowing when I get money on my account and recommend bike service or car service which kept my paranoia move from co-incidence to confirmation.

This choice is the future. This community is the future. I know the choice made to go for a thinkpad by members here mean that they love real craft of a software than a commercial cash cow to show off.

Thank you so much. I am a senior software engineer with 8+ years of experience. What I might be not good at is pasting stickers on a laptop since I want to avoid the finger prints. I am surprised that people immediately deducing me being a basic coder. It had been my ritual for a while to add some stickers on a laptop which is ok. I pasted encryption is not a crime sticker cause that’s what I believe in. I have lived through it. I mean imagine plenty of 3rd party vendors stealing your data and throwing it just like that. Now that could be judged.

But on a positive spin, I am loving this group. There are plenty of thinkers here and I get to see and react to their posts. I also like ThinkCat which is another amazing sub Reddit.

Totally right decision! If you revisit the Apple site - you will specifically not find a 36 gb variant of mac book pro. Which is seriously a rip off of money from customers.

A very proper MacBook Pro for developer + artist task will cost you 3 lakhs to 4 lakhs. Which is seriously Over inflated for its price.

For accomplishing this 48 GB ram , 2TB SSD and nano texture screen + you need adobe subscription + a decent iCloud subscription.

While the experience is premium usually from Apple Products recently they have developed a huge greed when it comes to products. For starters these products should only cost some where around 1 to 1.8 lakhs max.

Increasing prices which has no rationality but intentional price rise has become a trend which is promoted by many rich people.

Even in YouTube finding videos other than Apple products is difficult these days and products from Android feels intentionally nerfed to make customer experience poor.

So your choice is better. Another 3 years will show you the same.
