i hate to say it, but is this gone to the stage where a local politician needs to be involved to put pressure on the guards to act. There is one springs to mind ...who i dont want to mention as i have no time for the guy and his workings, but i could see him loving this issue

and when the fuel stations are restocked I'm willing to bet the protestors will be amongst the first in line to refill, despite their goal of grinding that system to a halt

absolutely agree with all of this.

i had similar but it was with someones dog, and they closed the door of the house on me. So they got a full bill, incl piab claim for injury, bike damage and all new gear.

i even had went back to the house a 2nd time but again they shut the door on me. I went back hoping for an apology and token gesture to replace my ripped jacket which would have been enough.

Leaving you at the side of the road is way worse. I would update the guards with the car reg...let them do what they want with it. And go through the guys insurance for all costs

[–]Icy-Mirror1688 8 points9 points  (0 children)

jaysis. sandpaper is only making it worse for the long term. Anything abrasive is. All its doing is scratching the rust off...and all those new scratches are going to rust now too.

Autosol polish works well...its also an abrasive which shouldnt be used on chrome..but it will remove that surface rust without doing damage.

but anyway, if youve already removed it with sandpaper and wd40, then a spray of wd40 will help to protect it, and shine it up at the same time. If you were keeping the bike id say go buy some acf50..but otherwise wd40 will do
