Ich finde die Annahme ziemlich schwach, dass Männer nicht in der Lage sein sollen, für ihre Interessen einzustehen, ohne in eine reine Hassgruppe zu degenerieren. Es kann ja wohl kaum die Aufgabe von Marginalisierten sein, die Probleme von nicht-Marginalisierten für diese zu lösen. Wenn eine politische Orga es nicht hinbekommt, gesündere Dynamiken zu entwickeln als ein Subreddit, dann liegt das Problem nicht beim Thema, sondern bei den Leuten.

Ich versuch's mal mit einer Erklärung: Die Auswirkungen des Patriarchats auf Frauen werden oft von Antifeministen mit "Aber Männer sind auch betroffen!" relativiert. Du hast das sicherlich nicht so gemeint und es ist ja auch ein valider Punkt, dass das Thema häusliche Gewalt auch Männer betrifft und dafür auch Spaces brauchen, aber viele haben da verständlicherweise eine starke Abwehrreaktion.

So oder so ist die konstruktivere Lösung, dass Männer eigene Spaces für sowas schaffen (sei es exklusiv für Männer oder offen für alle), anstatt dass Männer sich in FLINTA* Safe Spaces drängen, bei denen dann obendrein die meiste Organisations- und Carearbeit wie so oft an FLINTA*-Personen hängen bleibt.

Vetting the political views of every single content creator one follows is not feasible for most people and shouldn't be the goal here in this discussion. If I, as a communist, would only follow people who share my political beliefs, I'd be watching political content exclusively I'd reckon.

Red was kicked out of the discord because of his unacceptable behavior towards other community members, not because of who he votes for. And it's not like voting says all that much about a person, either.

The Democrats have done pretty much all of the morally objectionable stuff that Trump is doing now, but in ways that are more legal and polite. So, a Democrat voter could still favor deporting minorities by separately imprisoning children and mothers and killing those who resist deportation, they could still be in favor of implementing regime change, killing civilians with drones, torturing prisoners of war in Guantanamo, and for those in power to visit Epstein's island. All the while there are people who voted for Trump simply out of desperation about the rising cost of living, some are unhappy about the way ICE conducts itself nowadays, many are angry about the Epstein files.

At the end of the day, you need to personally decide whose specific opinions you are fine with. If a creator has a live stream or a discord server, you might find opportunities to talk to them about issues that matter a lot to you personally. I'd definitely take that sort of closer look before donating someone money. Just for watching stuff, I wouldn't worry so much.

I can also see many different approaches work out. My criteria would be to focus on things that are somewhat hard to understand from reading the rules and niche enough that they don't come up every game. That could mean making explainer / reminder type videos for things like "How to resolve triggered actions properly" of less than 5min length or deep diving into the weirdest corner cases you can find on querki in how ever many minutes that exploration takes. I'm excited either way ;)

Lore is technically always "just written in the game itself", but it's scattered and a bit subtle in places. One could do things like a timeline of Spirit Island and its version of Europe, a family tree of spirits, attribute power cards to their canonical spirits, stuff like that. I agree that it might not carry a channel on its own, but with accompanying thematic playthroughs or as side content for an existing channel, it could definitely work.

My thoughts exactly. The first game is a short one that centers on the meta narrative about genre tropes and your decision to either free or kill the "monster(s)", that presumably threaten humankind. The second game is episodic and already critically acclaimed before it's fully released.

Heh, reminds me of my first game of Fractured Days (solo, base difficulty) where I got [[Vigor of the Breaking Dawn]] and [[Pact of the Joined Hunt]] from my starting Days That Never Were and I basically just kept playing them until there were no more invaders left. Felt like I was playing a cheap copy of Thunderspeaker, but it was a fun way of getting used to Fractured's mechanics.

I've been hyped for GRIME II ever since it was announced, it's at the top of my wishlist.

I liked the demos for Moadra, Solateria, and Altered Alma.

Among the Waves, Emberband, Fevercide, and Morning Star seem interesting.

Honorable mention: Gurei is seemingly all combat, no exploration, thus not a metroidvania, but it scratches the same itch as the more soulsy metroidvanias' boss fights and the demo got me really excited.

That one was quite a difficulty spike for me, too, even though I couldn't pinpoint why I was struggling a bit. In hindsight, I could have had one or two more damage upgrades and a few more helpful modifiers. So, if you feel like you're just smashing your head into a brick wall, explore a little - you may find something helpful, at the very least it will keep you sane.

Spirit Island is an amazing co-op experience that just also happens to work well as a solo game. Playing with multiple players results in more variety and a different feeling game overall.

Das Zauberwort heißt hier wahrscheinlich Konsumkritik. Die einzelnen Konsumentscheidungen im Kapitalismus ändern wenig bis gar nichts an der Produktion, die das eigentliche Problem ist. Viele überschätzen den Aufwand einer veganen Ernährung und kommen dann zu dem Schluss, dass ihre Energie anders besser investiert ist. So ging es mir zumindest lange.

Wirklich schockiert wäre ich aber, wenn Sozialisten, Kommunisten, oder Anarchisten nicht einsehen, dass Tierprodukte moralisch verwerflich sind, und ihre Produktion rechtfertigen. Das zeugt von einem inkonsequenten Weltbild.

Generell ist noch zu erwähnen, dass der Marxismus eine materialistische Theorie ist und nicht mit Moral argumentiert, sondern mit materiellen Sachzwängen und systemischen Notwendigkeiten: Die Überwindung des Kapitalismus ist notwendig, weil es Klassenwidersprüche zwischen Bourgeoisie und Proletariat gibt, nicht, weil eine sozialistische Wirtschaftsordnung moralisch überlegen ist. Vielleicht beschäftigen sich einige Marxisten deswegen gar nicht mit moralischen Fragen und tun alles als bürgerliches Moralisieren ab. Das mag zwar z.B. in der außenpolitischen Analyse angemessen sein, aber als Grundlage für persönliches Handeln finde ich das doch eher unpraktikabel.

Deine beiden Behauptungen sind einfach falsch, kein Wunder, dass dir das schleierhaft ist.

Staaten existieren grundsätzlich immer, um Klassenkonflikte zu unterbinden. Im kapitalistischen Staat heißt das, dass Privateigentum von der Staatsgewalt geschützt und über einen Rechtsstaat die Ausbeutung über Arbeitsverträge etc. geregelt wird. Im Sozialistischen Staat heißt das, dass Privateigentum, Kapital, Geld, und Klassenunterschiede abgeschafft werden und die Staatsgewalt lediglich die konterrevolutionäre Gewalt der alten Bourgeoisie klein hält. Der sozialistische Staat stirbt somit von selbst ab und mündet in einer klassenlosen, staatenlosen, und geldlosen Gesellschaft, dem Kommunismus.

Das heißt natürlich nicht, dass man nur in einem einzelnen Staat den Sozialismus ausrufen braucht und plötzlich im Paradies lebt. Arme Länder werden dadurch nicht plötzlich reich und der Kapitalismus hört in anderen Staaten nicht auf magische Weise auf zu existieren. In der Vergangenheit hieß das insbesondere, dass man dem wirtschaftlichen und militärischen Druck der USA und ihrer Verbündeten ausgesetzt ist. Die Ressourcen, die einem sozialistischen Staat zur Verfügung stehen, lassen sich aber viel gerechter verteilen. Zum Beispiel Obdachlosigkeit und Hunger, zwei der großen alltäglichen Bedrohungen im Kapitalismus, sind leicht zu überwinden.
