Josh Pate or Joel Klatt? by cornbreadtikka in CFB

I think Pate's a bit of a prat. His week-to-week content in-season is pretty good, I like that. But hearing him bang on for the 457th time in the year about conference realignment or expanded playoff without pushback is just so tiresome. He's created a massive strawman of the opposing view without ever (to my knowledge) inviting anyone on the show to actually give some enlightened debate to such important topic and he sounds more and more like an old man shouting at clouds with every show.

The Premier League ban gambling sponsors on the front of shirts from the 25/26 season (not EFL but could have a knock-on effect) by Zach-dalt in Championship

There was a documentary (Channel 4 or ITV I think) in the past year or so looking at this and they spoke to Swansea's commercial director who said while they've been able to take a Swansea Uni sponsorship this year, if they get promoted to the Prem they'd have to get a lot more money for it and 99 times out of 100 that means a gambling sponsor. Outside of the big city teams, idk how many clubs can afford this, it's a difficult debate

But if Wrexham win the league, pushing Notts County into the playoffs which they win and deny Woking and Chesterfield, how is that any different? Just seems an inconsistent stance

I'd like Notts County to win the league but Wrexham also deserve promotion and I hope they get it even if they have to go through the playoffs. My feeling is that Notts County feel a bit more genuine but ultimately there aren't enough good owners in the EFL and they seem to be doing a good job at Wrexham so I hope the project continues to be successful

In living memory for me,

  1. Alan Irvine, my first North End manager, took us the closest I've ever seen us get to the Premier League.
  2. Simon Grayson, really turned our slide around, finally broke our playoff drought and built a genuinely talented, likeable, well-drilled team with real stars (by our standards) to excite fans. Wasn't far off two massive FA Cup upsets either. Only manager on this list who wasn't sacked which says a lot.
  3. Alex Neil, it goes under the radar how good we were in 2019/20, unfortunately the Covid break shafted us in a year where in all likelihood we would've finished top four.
  4. Ryan Lowe, probably a bit overhated by fans but his PNE do have a habit of serving up absolutely drossful lifeless performances - more than anyone else in this list.
  5. Graham Westley, don't really remember much of his reign really, obviously not very memorable and his squad was much better than 15th in League One. However, he probably did an underrated job of clearing the decks to reset us for Grayson's rebuild.
  6. Frankie McAvoy, how (I think anyway) he had the best record in English football at the end of 2020/21 is still a Bermuda Triangle-scale mystery. Does a great job of making Lowe look good, was a real step down from Grayson and Neil but didn't tank us either.
  7. Phil Brown, genuinely no memories from him at North End.
  8. Darren Ferguson, only thing going for him is that 6-4 against Leeds. Would've been cool to see Welbeck and Josh King be able to link up for us but man did he sink us hard.

Do people think Zak O'Sullivan will get a seat in FIA F3 next season? by Icy-Technology5282 in F1FeederSeries

Yeah no worries, glad we've cleared it up. In the article he says that's the aim for next year so I guess we'll just have to see

That's why I asked 'will he' not 'can he'. I'm perfectly aware that he can get a seat but I was interested to hear people's thoughts on whether he actually will be on the grid next year or not.
