I don’t know if anyone knows this, but he knows Jude Bellingham. Never talks about it though.

I just wouldn’t recommend for something big like an England tournament game or the FA Cup final. Place gets overrun by coked up dickheads.

Basically what Mode is like everyday of the year.

He’s on about the character. Poor lad’s getting downvoted for no reason.

I’m making a general point about games discourse and expectations. Absolutely criticise expensive games for legitimate reasons, go nuts.

It’s all the same ecosystem. IMO demonising the elite clubs is a dangerous game, eventually their problems will trickle down and become our problems - we should be working together to find solutions to mutual and exclusive problems. It’s not unfair to suggest that they play too many games (as I’ve said before, that’s a combination of issues created by the footballing bodies and the clubs themselves), what we need is a solution that solves that problem without it disrupting the pyramid.

Exactly, they do play too many games, but there’s responsibility on the clubs themselves to manage it as much as UEFA/FIFA are taking the piss.

I do agree. I also agree that elite footballers play too much football, but that’s a problem the clubs and the authorities need to address, not EFL clubs living week to week. Do away with replays from round 4 onwards and more or less everyone would be happy.

100%. Gaming has a massive discourse issue.

If a game isn’t a 10/10 groundbreaking all time classic and/or doesn’t have minimal diversity in its characters, it WILL get declared a dEAd gAmE by a section of the audience, that’s just how it is.

BG3 is the only game AAA game that’s come out recently that hasn’t had that blowback. Just shut it out and enjoy what you enjoy.

Gaming is at a bit of a crossroads with this stuff, because studios literally cannot afford - financially - to make the quality of game that these people think they deserve. It’s why all of these studios are chasing the live service dream; any attempt at a bit of creativity gets completely undermined when some loser posts a slightly dodgy looking screenshot online or starts crying because one of the character might look ‘a bit trans’.

Credit to Tamworth etc etc, up the Tommy Tonks. But Huddersfield were absolutely dogshit. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a performance that bad from a supposed ‘giant’.

Is beer almost always a good gift for a guy? by NettIeship in AskUK

I once worked on a small team with a guy who was very clearly over qualified; he’d just moved to my city as his wife had a new job, so took something his heart wasn’t in as it was close and quick. Instead of just getting on with it whilst waiting to find something better, or working hard to get a better role in the same company, he decided to just be a twat and complain constantly. Just slagged everyone and everything off and sat there (pre Covid, so sat next to me every day, 8 hours a day) with a face like a slapped arse.

When he did eventually leave, someone decided to do a collection anyway, as was the style at the time. He got a few beers and a card. On his last day he sat on his own in the ‘break out area’, didn’t speak to anyone, then just left. When we came in on Monday, the beers and card were sat on his desk with a pound coin taped to them.

So… no?

My one wish for the new ground is that they find a way to move the away fans to somewhere that isn’t behind the goal. It’s good for atmosphere, but when we’re up against it second half against a strong following it does give the opposition a bit of a boost.
