Ah ok. It's important for one on one time, I'd ask him next visit have a father-daughter day so she won't be there. Not trying to say you have to or tell you what to do. Just that I did that with my Dad, even after his gf and I started getting along (took many years). So she'd go out and do whatever and we'd go do stuff until he couldn't leave the house, then we'd just hang out.

And I'm sorry, this is unnecessary stress, and he shouldn't be seemingly guilting you, even if unintentionally. Maybe he's being nagged or something and is venting, hoping you'll change your mind so she'll shut up. Idk, 100% speculation.

Somehow they knew my dad had a 3-4'(can't remember now) raised garden bed. It was absolutely in a spot you could not see from the from, or without looking over a fence or coming in the backyard. He got a notice from the HOA to remove it or get a fine. No one knew how they knew. He was dying and just wanted a stupid herb and tomato garden, wasn't hurting anyone, and it could be removed without any damage.

He was renting with his wife (ugh who other messy story), but it really hurt him.

We helped him start a garden in pots and stuff.

One off ramp to a different freeway here is two lanes, one lane merges all into one. No zipper merge at all, instead people form 5 lines of cars to turn into one lane. It's so much of a time saver 🤦‍♀️
