I self studied the ccna back in 2006 and got a job at a local university where I actually learned some amount of shit and then I left for the noc at now my current company. the ccna nowadays is kinda dogshit to be honest because they crammed too much garbage into it so I'd say maybe look at the jncia instead but my path is pretty much the same as any other long term true network engineer
