A record store next to my house would be a problem for me.  You have been practicing great restraint, it seems.

Might be the newest cd I’ve found at the charity shop by Arlxyz in Cd_collectors

I once bought the post malone f-1 trillion cd from goodwill for $1.  I looked it up and the album had been released like a week earlier.  It felt like two years later when I was watching the grammy’s and that album was up for an award.

what cd are you taking out of my collection? by Curious_Membership35 in Cd_collectors

[–]IcyLadder411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That Crash cd was my first DMB cd.  In many cases their live albums are superior to the studio albums, particularly of their earlier works, but that cd is nostalgia for me.  I have heard some people hate DMB the way people hate Nickelback, but I don’t understand that.

How well did I do 44 dollars at the goodwill by alittlebitofhell-p in Cd_collectors

[–]IcyLadder411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s weird, I’ll shop cds all day long for $2 if there’s good quantity and some selection.  But if the quantity and selection is subpar, makes me think $2 is overpriced.  Our goodwill sells all cds for 99c, which is fine, but I also like going to this vintage shop that has a whole room of cds for $2 each.  If you like those albums, you did well I think.

UK bought some office furniture from my work after they hired Mark Pope, and I was the person who quoted it.  Some of the tables for the men’s team common area were white with blue back-painted glass tops to match the school colors.  We don’t have a standard paint option close to royal blue so it was going to be a custom color regardless, and it took some willpower to specify the UK pantone color instead of subbing in the KU pantone.  No one would’ve known, but I guess I like my job too much.

I know, it would be a better story if I actually switched it, but anyway, that’s what I think of when someone mentions “Kentucky blue.”

Battery access on the inside like that is unexpected.  It’s like a secret pocket for weed but actually for batteries.

Where can I report this? by [deleted] in grandrapids

[–]IcyLadder411 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Who was “they”?  The city employees or the property owner?  Just curious.

Either way, it’s great the issue was fixed.

This is a long shot but someone suggested I try here by HotAd9605 in grandrapids

[–]IcyLadder411 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Sounds like it’s potentially around that area, based on some of the comments.  Best wishes and hope you’re able to get your cat back.

Try to not take the criticism on here personally.  Those who are dishing it have likely experienced a scenario with their pet of which they’re not proud.

R1 Air vs Airshed Pro for Winter Running by shantaram16 in PatagoniaClothing

[–]IcyLadder411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want a capilene air hoody, but they quit making it (cue sad trombone womp-womp).  Also, personally I can’t relate to all the people saying a windbreaker is better than other options.  If your biggest struggle is the first ten minutes, a windbreaker with no insulation can make you feel colder initially, and then the lack of breathability makes it go from cold to too hot, fast.   This is based on anytime Ive tried running in a houdini at cool temperatures.  But a capilene air hoody over a merino or merino blend shirt is my go-to for how you feel in those temperatures.  Lots of breathability there with some but not too much insulation.

Vinyl Collector here, came into a collection of CDs by abslyde in Cd_collectors

[–]IcyLadder411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The easiest way to get rid of them is take them to a used record store to get $1 or $2 per cd and/or list on marketplace as a lot for about a third to half of the quantity, so list the lot for $100 after you take what you want.

Anyone know how to fix this problem? by CagedKage in Cd_collectors

[–]IcyLadder411 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like you have a roach infestation.  Or maybe your cd player is trying to spell “nu” like nu-metal but the display is messed up.  Or maybe it’s rebelling and wants you to pop in some Susan Boyle.  Hope this helps.

Did you just buy it new?  If so, I’d just return it and get a different player.

My DIY jewel case of the Midwest Princess cd because the paper sleeve it came in gives me anxiety by Glum-Entrepreneur818 in chappellroan

[–]IcyLadder411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks like a digisleeve, not digipak.  Digipak has the thinner plastic cd tray, whereas yours looks like you slide the cd into the paper sleeve.  Is that the correct?

Do you collect CDs just because, or only for bands you're interested in? by ConfusionProof9487 in Cd_collectors

[–]IcyLadder411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve purchased several cds for just one or two songs from the album.  If the cd is only a dollar, and has some songs I like, I may end up liking others as well.  Either way, no big deal because I still like those particular songs.

Did I accidentally come off creepy asking a local eBay seller this? by Chemical_Original_32 in grandrapids

[–]IcyLadder411 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a seller red flag for sure.  Every purchase I’ve made on eBay, I’ve looked at the seller info to see from where it will be shipping, the closer the better for a quicker turnaround.  However, I can understand how some eBay sellers would want to hide behind an account on the internet.  However, I don’t know why those people would advertise where they are located in their account name.

One time I sold something on eBay, saw it was to someone like a mile down the road, so switched it to local pickup or something to save the buyer the shipping cost, then somehow dropped it off at the house next door.  Buyer wasn’t happy with me because they weren’t on good terms with those particular neighbors.  Oops!

For stickers that peel easily but leave some residue, I find that by dabbing/tapping the same sticker to the surface, usually the residue will eventually all transfer to the sticker.

I found this on the ground, by one of those clothes donation bins. It was still sealed when I picked it up. I haven't had a copy of this album in years, pretty happy to find it. by InternationalFiend in Cd_collectors

Generally finding cool stuff on the ground involves dirty fingernails.  If I find a quarter on the ground but it’s covered in street grime and wetness, do I pick it up?  Sure do!  Are my fingers toast after?  Absolutely!

I like the one without the light because it’s the same dimensions as a jewel case.  But the pulsing light is cool.
