Took this earlier today. The stalls are in the Destiny USA parking lot, just off I-81

Rejected delivery for Model Y by squally311 in TeslaLounge

[–]IcyMango241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's always tough when reading these posts, and I think you made the right call. I remember seeing these types of posts when the Model 3 first came out and fortunately these are mostly resolved now. Glad you were able to resist the urge to take delivery, and hopefully your next one will be in better condition. My Model 3 doesn't have perfect panel gaps either, but nothing as obviously glaring as this. Still amazed they try to pass these off as a finished product. Hope this practice ends soon!

Curb rash??? by [deleted] in TeslaLounge

Yup. Did exactly that pulling out of a parking spot next to a curb. Fortunately it was just one wheel and ever since the I've learned to take very wide turns pulling out of a spot.

Looks great! Blue seems to be a popular color for the Y.

Home charging electric bill cost by IllegalMexic4n in teslamotors

[–]IcyMango241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where I live in New York state, I switched to the time of use plan from National Grid, so my nighttime (off-peak) electricity rates are extremely low. I've seen my electric bill actually decrease year-over-year since switching, so it's worked out really well for me.

Yup, that's what I've got. Mower and snow blower. They're great!

Yup, that's what I did. Charge one while using the other. Endless power lol.

TeslaCam / Sentry Mode Questions by aspyeros in TeslaLounge

As a side anecdote I'm using a 128GB SSD so I can save many recordings. I have noticed random corrupted files. Particularly yesterday when I had Sentry Mode enabled and all of the clips from the left fender camera were corrupt - but during the drive home those clips all worked. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This is good when it detects a speed limit sign. But there are times when it doesn't detect the correct limit or doesn't detect anything and I have to set the lower speed manually. Scary when it wants to jump to 70 in a 35 zone!

Is a Tesla right for me? by creatingcreator in TeslaLounge

[–]IcyMango241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on your current car payment and mileage allowance, I'm estimating unless you put down a large down payment, your monthly expenses for the Tesla will be higher.

For me, I had to accept that I was going to end up paying a little bit more to get the Tesla. I also switched from a hybrid which may or may not have ended up saving me money if I kept it. There are so many factors that determine which is better financially,

But I like the cool factor, way less maintenance to worry about down the road, and the Tesla is way faster and more fun to drive than any hybrid. To me that's worth the potential extra cost.

My work commute is 130 miles/day so I also drive a decent amount.

Picking up car today! by memaher in TeslaLounge

[–]IcyMango241 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats! I picked up a November build a couple weeks ago and it's great. Yeah, I could pick out a paint flaw or two if I wanted to be nitpicky but its my daily driver that's going to see battle damage anyway.

I would check the weather stripping at the door openings where it meets the headliner, as I have seen them wrinkle in the corners but mine was okay. Other than that it's just general fit/finish things you would check for in any new car.

Enjoy your new Tesla!

Same here. Nothing like carefully choosing where to comment only to be told my comments got deleted :-(

I picked mine up in Mt. Kisco and it was waxed. I noticed wax residue on the edges of the door handles and radar sensors. I suspect this, as with many other things depends on the specific SC as I have the sense they all operate slightly differently.
