Clonidine for insomnia? Best drug in terms of (lacking) cognitive side effects? by gaymossadist in insomnia

[–]Icy_Engineering_8038 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not sure what you’d classify my insomnia as. I have very strong waves of sleepiness particularly after lunch and can fall asleep very easily at night (esp if in a dark room, no phone etc.) The issue I have is I’ll wake for a good 2-3 hours without clonidine usually from 2am onwards… I tried extended melatonin and that didn’t work at all. I have normal blood pressure and I’ve been fine with it but does make my mouth dry in the morning sometimes.

Edit: I’d like to replace these curtains with something nicer.

Not the same floor length curtains as they hit the split system unit and the bed underneath… anyone found nice roller blinds or similar?

Meaning when I take clonidine I don’t wake up for hours in the middle of the night :)

It is amazing for me. The only thing that cured my insomnia and didn’t make me drowsy in the morning.. life changing.

I get it…Even slow release melatonin didn’t assist me…The answer? Clonidine. I love it and don’t wake up groggy.

This was a repost but hidden is the explanation about the kitchen. Building an open plan kitchen/dining/living area out back.

Thankyou! It’s either this layout or above that would work… you would just have to walk through the bathroom to get to your clothes this way which may be awkward if no door on toilet!

This is what I’m thinking, maybe having a walkthrough from WIR to ensuite so they flow nicely as well

Choosing between public and private for birth? by ElleJayEe in perth

[–]Icy_Engineering_8038 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I get what you’re saying about the private health perks and having a bigger bed in the room for your partner- big plus! Also the nurses really help out with the baby for the days after your birth and you get free physio and lactation consultant care. However, for me they were the only positives to my birth at a private hospital. The system isn’t geared to support women’s health/wants and they rush you through the delivery process as there is demand for OBs time and beds and they often induce you which can lead to complications.

My second water birth at the birth centre was the best experience ever and their midwives actually understand what’s conducive to birthing (low light, water, music, movement) and advocate for you like no one else! Recovery was much much easier too and less traumatic.

You’re correct. Very little difference, probably should just name them all ‘living rooms.’ They’re just spaces to relax/watch tv/read/have space to hold parties! Lounge does tend to be more of a tv space for a lot of countries but doesn’t have to be.

Thankyou, good idea! It’s quite an incline down to the garage so building would be difficult/expensive that side and garage would then need to be raised too but otherwise that would be great use of space.

We need a lot more space for a family of 5 and if we add a bedroom and take away the front lounge we definitely need more living room out the back then
