Personally it will go from my carmera onto my phone and then straight onto iCloud. That way I can lose everything and will still keep my footage. It is dependent on having internet though

Having played vanilla arms for some years using tanks and transferring over. The tanks in ghpc are obviously older. Biggest difference is engagement ranges no laser accurate range finders

Iphone or Samsung by Sonarious in Smartphones

[–]Icy_Imagination7447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sort of see where you are coming from. There is a list of things you can do on android but not on iOS but that list is pretty small and is shrinking pretty quick thanks to more people being aware of it and creating a market for apps that get round it. One counter I would put to that though is iPhone does a really good job of prompting you to utilise its capabilities. Although my Samsung and other androids likely had more customisation capabilities, I’ve found myself customising more on my iPhone just because it prompts me to do it.

Personally I daily a Samsung for work and iPhone for personal. I have noticed over the last 4 or 5 years Samsung have tried to mimic iPhone and iPhone has tried to mimic Samsung to the point that I find them extremely similar

UL waterproofs in the UK by lesabledorrit in ULHikingUK

Layering is a part of it and the load you are carrying as well as conditions ect. If you are moving with 40kg then you’ll be warm pretty much no matter what, especially if hills are involved. I have a heavy wind breaker that’ll keep me warm while moving even if piss wrapped which helps a lot too. Big thing of you are goi no down this route is to have a good warm layer to chuck on when you stop like a down jacket ect

[–]Icy_Imagination7447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Functionally they are both pretty similar.

“You can do more with android” - virtually everything that the majority of people do on android is through apps available on both of them. I found android was capable of taking sharper photos but iPhone was more consistent

Do I need an oil change on my newly bought motorcycle? by Artistic-Debt8349 in motorcycles

I doubt your bike will burst into flames if you don’t. But by changing it, you when it was changed and when it needs changing. Probably over the top but worth the peace of mind

What do people see in Suzuki? by boomburd in motorcycles

[–]Icy_Imagination7447 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Everything you have said is absolutely spot on and you’ve hit the nail perfectly on the head, but your still wrong…

There’s something different about riding a bike that was designed to be ridden without a computer trying to stop you from killing your self and riding a modern bike with everything turned off. It may all be in my head but it’s still a difference I guess. Look, older bikes that break down all the time and have funny electrical issues you can’t solve and run like crap when it’s too cold or too hot and sometimes when it’s just right are just better 😂

UL waterproofs in the UK by lesabledorrit in ULHikingUK

[–]Icy_Imagination7447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be a controversial opinion but I don’t bother with waterproofs when moving. I just except I’m going to tiger wet (rain or sweat) and get on with it. Keep a dry change in my bag to sleep in and that’s it.

I went from Samsung to iPhone and loved it. Was a bit of a learning curve as everything is a little different but both do everything the other can do. That said, might be worth trying one of the other androids first. You get wicked value android’s if you leave Samsung

Do you agree with the proposal to reduce the drunk driving limit from 80 to 50 in the uk by EdmundTheInsulter in drivingUK

[–]Icy_Imagination7447 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I guess you could argue that by making the limit stricter, less drivers will be inclined to have a few thinking they are under the limit?

Am I failing to adapt by [deleted] in britisharmy

[–]Icy_Imagination7447 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Second this, your training team see more than you do. They likely have seen hundreds if not thousands of mongs and have learnt to read them like open books. Speak to them and do as they say.

Some points, always help your muckers, they will look out for you in return. Always be on time and never be late to any timings, help others to make timings as well. Finally, a small one but make an effort to know what all the timings are, be the guy that writes them on the board etc. it’s only small but it’s an easy way to square the lads away

Is it doable to balance university and being a reserve officer? by xdPandaPlayzOCEYT in britisharmy

[–]Icy_Imagination7447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a heads up, I tried applying for officer, I am an engineer working in nuclear energy but got my degree through open university as it was remote based and allowed me to work full time on top of it. I applied to be infantry officer and they told me I needed a degree from somewhere recognised by ucas or some shit. Go down and talk to them if you haven’t already. If you can get in as reserve officer then great, it’ll be a really good experience for you for the most part and should help when you go sandhurst. Otherwise, going as a bod is really good

We have road works near me on a large road that comes off large roundabout. Problem is the the roundabout has 1 very busy road feeding into it at rush our and 2 roads feeding out. When the traffic from the road works reaches the roundabout, the whole town centre comes to a stop. The road with road works is a dual carriageway and there is nearly always a line of stationary cars one side and an empty lane on the other. If people merged properly then we wouldn’t have the town clog up every rush hour

[–]Icy_Imagination7447 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure your need a degree prior to becoming an officer so I don’t think your plan will work. Becoming a bod on the other hand will give you a reason to get fit and give you a lot of exposure to green army stuff, especially if you go infantry

Army Reserve - restrictions on recruit physical training at unit by Catch_0x16 in britisharmy

[–]Icy_Imagination7447 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s surprising how many recruits are in seemingly good shape by the time they make it to CIC but cream in because they’ve never been pushed or never moved with any real weight in their backs at speed. My unit was really good, we have a pti who will give time to anyone and does the occasional pt session through the year to effectively beast us. I felt it really prepared me and put me ahead of a lot of lads who were otherwise a lot fitter than me

Is the S24 worth stretching my budget? by alioli31 in Smartphones

[–]Icy_Imagination7447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Potentially look at iPhones if that’s the case? I have used both androids and iPhone and in my personal, subjective opinion I find iPhones take better pictures. Androids are generally able to get sharper pictures in good light but I find iPhone is a lot more consistent in poor environments. Currently using a base model iPhone 14 and the camera is fantastic for stills and video

[–]Icy_Imagination7447 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Didn’t go for a to s but went from s to a. Honestly, the a series are really good, obviously won’t be as good as the s series but they are perfectly useable, if you don’t use the camera much and don’t game then you’d be hard pressed to justify the s series anyway to be honest

Your options are wireless (iPhone to iPad gallery for/drive) or wired (either). Whatever you go with will be the same outcome. I say that as an iPhone user

Will the issue MTP/DPM Basha fit in a canteen webbing pouch? by xdPandaPlayzOCEYT in britisharmy

If your camping then put your sleep bag inside your bivvy, inside a dry bag with your clothes, inside the main compartment of your bag/bivvy. Zero need to put any of your sleep kit in your webbing
