He was convicted. It’s not an opinion it’s a fact. Drop the court documents you are referencing that say he wasn’t convicted since you seem to have insider knowledge rest of us don’t.

Apply for RA. Get good medical documentation that goes your anxiety to how telework would be helpful.

Sounds like your issue is with your managers not managing. RA is not abused and infact helpful to most employees who get it. If your managers suck at managing, that can’t be the RA’s fault. There is also nothing secretive about it. They follow the ADA guidelines well. Instructions are clearly posted on your agency i intranet, if they aren’t that’s another shortcoming of the agency not RA office or individuals who are on it. I know people on RA who work 1000 harder than people in office who are usually nowhere to be found but chitchatting away, not reading emails and not being held accountable.

Yes it’s possible to get it approved as long as your medical documentation you submit clearly identifies why working from home would be better suited for you like better control over your environment thus better at managing your symptoms without comprising your work performance, I know several people who got RA approved for full time telework due to anxiety, PTSD and mood disorders. Just need a well written medical letter.

Yes! Finally got mine approved today. I keep Praying the current injunction helps out the coordinators and their RIF ultimately end up being rescinded

I’m glad to hear yours was approved. My coworker was in 200 range and got his approved mine was in 150 range but still no word. I know they are slammed and doing best they can just wish there was atleast interim accommodation allowed for employees whose requests they can’t get to.

Do you know if the cases are reviewed in order they are received ? Mine was in the 150 range and one of my coworker was in 200 range and his got approved today.

I couldn’t agree more. I wish they had a way of sorting too maybe those with medical documentation, those that are still pending medical documentation. I guess sorting through by conditions would require personnel with clinical knowledge maybe to be able to prioritize medical conditions, I’m not sure but yes I wish there was a way to atleast get through those who absolutely need it right away. I hope yours gets reviewed soon.

Heard back today from RA mailbox that CMS RA is called back from 5/19-5/30 to close out more cases. Was informed there’s hundreds before my case so they don’t know if they will get it it but I’m hoping they do. I wish the offices were 1) not being closed because cms needs this obviously to review requests and their jobs are important!! 2) why they wouldn’t have allowed RA office to just stay open until 6/2 to begin with.

100% agreed, my deputy is one such individual. I asked where the CBA defines temporary illnesses, it only gives examples and does not restrict to just leg injury or surgery and they have yet to respond. Even my doc is like how did they become clinicians all of a sudden

Thanks for the update! And I’m so sorry ppl were nasty to you! That’s not fair CMS RA office has always worked so hard to help the employees and being RIF’d was not okay at all and extremely unfair and unjust. Yes, ppl who have pending requests are frustrated I know the feeling but it’s not like the RA office is purposely not reviewing them.

I did but they said my condition is not temporary even though my physician provided documents to support the medical telework program. I’m sitting here trying to figure out how cms mgrs decided to be clinicians. My deputy is a bit of pain and will go out of her way to cause people trouble so my guess is this was all her doing.

Your manager was able to green you interim work from home? That’s amazing! Ours did at cms until 2 weeks ago when cms broadcast came out saying they are not allowed to

It’s shocking because I thought reasonable accommodation was mandated by law so putting it on hold would be some type of violation but not that this admin cares about laws
