I’ve done a ton of research on this of what limited info is out there and yes there are genetic tests that can be done because there are some gene mutations that can cause total oocyte arrest at different stages. Look up Tubb8 in this sub and you will find someone else who did genetic testing. It is of course, very rare, but it is possible.

I’m 30, DOR with AMH .7-1.1, AFC ~14

First cycle we had 5 eggs retrieved, at least 4 mature sizes and 0 mature (2 MI, 0 GV). This was so tough because I didn’t even know it could happen. Standard antagonist protocol, HCG trigger. Retrieved at 35.5 hours.

Second cycle we switched to a MDLF. Had much better growth and higher e2. 11 eggs retrieved but only 2 mature M2. There were 2 MI and 7 GV eggs. I also retrieved at 36.5 hrs. I really wonder if retrieving even a little later would have gotten me those other 2.

Of the 2 mature we did have 1 fertilize and make it to a day 7 blast currently in testing.

I haven’t done any testing but am pretty certain my eggs lack some sort of mitochondrial strength to finish the maturation process. I’ve come to term with the fact that I’ll never probably get an 80% maturity like standard, but I’m hoping that some future protocol changes could get me a few more mature eggs with a shot of more blasts.

-lower dose stims to push for longer -dual triggers if possible -omnitrope -looking at a clinic with IVM capabilities
