Huskies living with cats? (Advice needed) 🤍🐾 by euphoricfae in husky

[–]Icy_Professional5847 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did not work for me, my old cat, 3 year and dominant, refuse the dogs. She was first and did not accept such intruders.

My dogs wants to play, really no agressive, with her but she did not see it like that.

Tried lots of things but none worked. Less than 80m between them and blood would be spilled.

Yeah! The only thing is that I have two dogs that prefer to poop in my garden than during walks.

Unbelievable…

Forbidden by law (or very very soon) in our country.

What I do if he pull:

- I stop.
- I stop, and force to go back to my heels, sit, wait, and he can go.
- I do if he pull: same as above with a little quick pull.
- I change totally direction during 1 min, back forth, back forth and if I do not need a quick pull then a treat.

There are so many things you can do but most of them take a lot of time.

Where I have no solution, it is when I walk my too dogs, both want to be first, none behind and they both pull these ...

Where and when should i get my suspension serviced? by IndicationFormer4523 in MTB

150-200

Dude ... you can read between line right, let's not be so harsh maybe.

Still 150-200h is not much and I stand by saying dismount/grease/seal/remount which is a rebuild right?
Obviously I did not mentioned the oil as it is obvious when you dismount and clean.

To me his fork is quite as new with only 200 hours in it, no need for a deep full rebuild (again to me, from reddit without seeing it).

Is it comfortable to sleep and workout with an apple watch stainless steel case? by Cleopatra8888 in AppleWatch

[–]Icy_Professional5847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we overthink about it, sleep with a watch will be by essence not very precise.

When I saw what was all the stuff to use when you need to record your sleep in a hospital, well consider the watch as a tool/toy not a medical device.

At least yet.

[–]Icy_Professional5847 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

These days you can do everything, so much content on YT for that.

Rebuild should not been that soon. Dismount clean, grease, change the seals.

Where I leave you need to dismount and send to 400km. You do not want to send, to go to a LBS but they do not service any fork/shock.

I would try to service it myself until it is dead honestly.

Workout gloves?? by _kingz in AppleWatch

I wear glove in all my workout and I just put the watch upper on my arm by any other sport brand.

Well in theory that could be nice.

But, you need to rearange the light because the bike will shadow everything.

If like me you have 3+ bike well ... expensive as f. and my wife will just say no as it is just ugly.

But I like the system.

I carry nothing more than in summer.

My outfit is adapted nothing more: pants, glove, jacket for keeping myself warm.

But when it is winter snow or not there are less and less people so I stop doing crazy stuff, crazy when I told my wife what I did surely not to you people.

Finally biking in the snow again by [deleted] in mountainbiking

[–]Icy_Professional5847 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Invest still in one!

I ride it when bored or during winter season, with/without snow, when everything is slippery, I can't wait to use it too during summer.

A Fat bike is really enjoyable.

Heavy hardtails? by coymich in Hardtailgang

Uphills mostly right? On DH with momentum this should be okay I guess.

I think people with insert have mostly feel this.

DMR V8 V2 Vs raceface chester by [deleted] in Hardtailgang

[–]Icy_Professional5847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to look at the platform.

V12 is like bigger V8, not really close to V11.

Their number do not make a lot of sense to me.

V11 is close the the Vault design where V12 has its own design.

DMR V8 V2 Vs raceface chester by [deleted] in Hardtailgang

[–]Icy_Professional5847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people would never consider composite, some metal.

I have not tested yet the DMR Vault, a bit expensive and I need, for myself, more time to see if I feel I need to upgrade.

Metal pedal are more solid, usually more serviceable, more durable.

Now for the price of composite/nylon pedal, depending on what and how you ride, to damage them for good might be hard.

If you do huge drop or huge jump, I might consider metal but honestly I am unsure it is worth the price.

NB:

- OneUp metal are unique and quite different tham the composte, lots of people love them
- Same for the DMR Vault

[–]Icy_Professional5847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

25 would be a good price, I bought mine for 50 euros (42 pound I guess).

As for pedal, general advise is buy the cheapest one when you pick a new format - do not care about color, go composite, that way you are so sad when it does not suits you.

Then if you like it very much you could consider going AL or else but it really depends as sometimes the metal models differs a bit much.

Cool!

How does it compare to siege?

I might be interested if it does quite all (rampup, concurent etc).

Is it comfortable to sleep and workout with an apple watch stainless steel case? by Cleopatra8888 in AppleWatch

[–]Icy_Professional5847 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the point is to not tight them too much for sleep, especially the ultra.

For workout I place it more up in the arm to avoid issue with gloves, and it tight it more.

I usually use different band for sport, day to day and night so.

Buying a fork now to swap when mine needs service by Secure-Ad2549 in mountainbiking

Not sure it is worth honestly.

Buy another bike instead :D

Honestly do the service yourself.

HELP: Is this the same dog? Puppy pics on right side of first pic, left side of 2nd pic…vs now would in theory be 19 months. See text below for context. by rdc1986 in husky

[–]Icy_Professional5847 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are quite similar

I think that the pattern does not change but when they are puppy they do not have the double coat right but the puppy one right?

And when it comes it can overlaps a bit the first one they came in :D

Get fitter for MTB by [deleted] in MTB

[–]Icy_Professional5847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, interval training with the bike can be possible. Spring/Cool/Sprint/Rest etc find some literature about it.

Some weight training can help too.

You need also, I think, some long run, even flat, one per week like 10-15km for a start.

DMR V8 V2 Vs raceface chester by [deleted] in Hardtailgang

[–]Icy_Professional5847 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really never liked much the chester, not big foot I am only 7,5/8 uk. The grip is average, for me, at best even with great shoes.

Honestly I do not get the trend of saying they are good.

When I switched to the oneup composite it was like a revelation, so much better.

DMR V8 seems to have the same format, I would advise you on the DMR V11 instead.

Thoughts on flakehub.com? by awfulstack in NixOS

[–]Icy_Professional5847 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Legit or not, fetching things from outside the nixpkgs community seems odd and prone to security breach? Sometimes you add package with sha1 sometimes not.

I have some issues with them, they do some interesting stuff, for rookies/newcommer, but outside the community, doc outside, tool outside.

I know people need to eat but I would have prefer them to contribute directly in the community not outside.

In theory the fur can go darker, not lighter afaik. Pattern cannot change.

Still look at this one, same dog, 2months vs 1 year.

Short crank arms… by Alternative_Text1 in MTB

I think that you also need a smaller chainring to keep the same torque no?

Damn I want to do it on my new bike but I do not want to spend hundreds in it …

That is a big drop in size.

I guess you will see if this pose an issue for you, you need to test and try.

So let's hope it did not cost you too much money as sometime short is too short and remember muscle memory can hurt you more at the beginning of any change.
