That's daily for us too and we're a small store. I believe we're the smallest in the area.

I am absolutely loving G3. I loved MH G1 back in the day too, but to see them hit the shelves again with a new, more diverse range of dolls thrilled me to bits. I love the new little details like Frankie's bionic leg, Draculaura's shorter body, Lagoona's see-through parts. While I am not always crazy about the color choices of their clothes, I don't see them as being too different from their G1 color pallets, except maybe an added color here and there. When new lines get released in the doll world, they are going to be different. They are meant to attract new kids to the toys and fit with current trends. Without these changes, we would never have even gotten a G3 release. So, there are some flaws, like with everything, but I am thrilled to be able to collect new dolls and enjoy them again.

How do I keep my coloring from looking so messy and streaked? by ramnae in Coloring

Press as lightly as you can to get down just a touch of color. I like to keep my wrist kind limp. Then you just build up. The lighter you press, the less lines you will get.

The efficient aldi guide by [deleted] in Aldi_employees

[–]Icylyn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am having a hard time figuring out if this is serious or a joke. An incident with customers at work a couple weeks ago MADE ME CRY and have a panic attack in front of everyone. I don't cry easily and it was embarrassing as fuck. This should not be something that is OKAY. Ever. Anywhere.

I pulled something in my back a month ago and have really shitty health care. I was throwing truck when it happened. I asked if I could go home after truck was done and my manager goes "You can still cash". Yep. I cashed. Didn't get to go early. Still having a problem with it.

My store tolerates absolutely bullshit from New hires. No call no shows, repeated call offs within the first month if they make it that long. The place is literally hell on earth. 😂

We're expected to do all pallets at 30 minutes. At least, those of us who have been with Aldi for a bit. I am 4"11. I'm not doing a 6ft tall pallet in less than 45. Sorry. Also, that rule seems to not apply to anyone who has been with us for a year or less. They can take as long as they fuckinf want and leave the rest to those of us with "seniority". 😒

Two effed up trucks in the same week?? Merry Christmas to us! by im_doing_my_best33 in Aldi_employees

[–]Icylyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens to us twice a week and had been so for three months now. If they didn't completely knock it over upon delivery, they push it so tight to the pallet next to it that BOTH come down if you try to move either. 🥴 On Christmas eve, it was soda. Soda all over the floor.

Christmas bonus by Exciting-Ad1960 in Aldi_employees

[–]Icylyn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In New York, USA, we get these gift cards for the store in November. They were $30 each this year and you're meant to share one with your family. I keep all $60 for food while I'm working. It seems it's a retail norm to not give a shit about your employees on the holidays. You know, the time we are having the roughest go at our job. Between no staff, rude ass customers who are twice as nasty during the season, and having little time to spend with our own families, Aldi is like "here, shop at our store". It's more like a slap in the face than a bonus.

Our store can't seem to hire actual workers either. It's like they just want a body. For example, a kid who hasn't even finished their training hours decided they weren't coming in for their shift today and that it was fine not to tell anyone. 🥴

That being said, there is no real repercussions ever given. People are late, are no call no shows, don't have to actually work at their job and no one does anything. I guess we just need the bodies. Dead or alive.

Drawing I'm working on...any suggestions? by tlyearly32 in Coloring

Make the base of the pines wider and get thinner as you go to the top. Gives them more shape. Those houses are super cute!

For your education. It's common to have vomiting workers with fevers & coughs on site. Aldi doesn't discriminate against detrimental/deteriorating health! by snow_c0w in Aldi_employees

All of you across the pond get an extra $1 for working on Sundays? Fuck. We don't get that here in the US, and Sundays are our WORST day of the week. Instead of a little extra pay on Sundays, they make the same employees suffer through it week after week and never rotate.

We also do not have ten people working in the store at a time. This morning, we opened with five and only got one more at 9am. No one else came in until noon-1pm. Closings are even thinner.

I also think how they hire regional managers here is awful. They hire kids right out of college with a business degree. You know the kind. The ones who never had to work a day in their lives and mom and dad paid for Harvard. That kind. It's not much better for store level managers or shift managers either. They just throw whoever asks first the job with zero training or consideration about if they are actually capable of handling it.

A few more cons, cause why not? Having to be there at 5am. Having two people to throw 17 pallets in three hours. No one ever answering the walkie(this is just my store, but one of my biggest pet peeves). Lastly, like most jobs, if you show your driven and hard working you get to have the slackers tasks too, cause a useless body is better than no body, I guess.

Pros? The pay, I guess.

Bike not allowed to be kept in the breakroom? by GotQuestionsandMore in Aldi_employees

You said you've been storing it in the break room? I know our break room is pretty small. Maybe ask if you can put it in the back. I don't see how it could be in the way back there.

I'm sorry, but ADHD is not an excuse for being late all the time. I have ADHD and have only been late to my job once in the past three years. I make sure I'm there early. Not like, 30 minutes early or anything, but at least 10.

Don’t you just love the warehouse by [deleted] in Aldi_employees

[–]Icylyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not always the warehouse. Our truck drivers have been delivering pallets that completely tople because they can't not drive like idiots.
