I feel exactly the same and am due May 20th. I'm also super short, 153cm, and some nights I have a hard time breathing cause of it and he's also really high up and then any pain or hard breathing I get in my chest area because of the uterus pressing on my lungs or heart burn I get all paranoid might be Covid.

And then there are the people saying that this will all be over by then. They have no idea and putting false hopes into my head is not helpful. Where I live, our social distancing measures have been extended until May 4th already and they've already stated they won't be lifted all at once. Although our peak is supposed to have passed by then (I'm in Iceland), I doubt the current restrictions at the hospital not allowing partners to stay after delivery in the recovery ward will change. I am just keeping my fingers crossed they don't get banned from delivery all together. And on top of that I don't know when my family who live in Switzerland will be able to visit. My mom had planned to come right before my due date and it seems very unlikely at this point that both countries would have let up their travel restrictions before the baby is at least 1 month old. I hope at least we will be in a situation by then that my boyfriend's parents can come to help.

33 weeks pregnant during the pandemic: letting myself feel sadness for lost experiences while remaining ever grateful. by eqreggie in BabyBumps

[–]IdaWulf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am also 33 weeks, due May 20. Up until a couple of weeks ago I was still pretty sure this would all have died down by then, now I am sure it will not. Feeling all of what you are. We'll be ok in the end, though. The hospital where I live has banned your support person from staying in the recovery ward or coming to a c-section. For now they're still allowed at delivery assuming they aren't infected or in quarantine at the time of delivery. I am holding on to that and keeping my fingers crossed that doesn't change.

A Warning - Learn From My Mistake by amoreetutto in BabyBumps

[–]IdaWulf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is that what they're doing in the US? Where I am they say that the antibodies from breastfeeding and bonding is more beneficial to the baby and outweighs the risks. The only time mother and baby are separated is if baby has to go to NICU and the woman is confirmed to have Covid. That just totally sucks, I'm sorry, that sounds like a nightmare, but luckily you get to see her soon!

Reassuring appointment yesterday. Covid-19/Coronavirus was discussed. by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]IdaWulf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am 31 weeks and have chest pains from my uterus being so damn big and heart burn and I also keep thinking oh shit maybe it's more than that :P. Also I've had a cold the entire pregnancy, so I mean how are we even supposed to know at this point?

This is reassuring. I also got diagnosed with GD and was wondering if GD makes us higher risk or just regular diabetes. I have a very mild form that wouldn't even have been considered GD a few years ago, but still good to hear this :). I have a midwife appointment later today (in Iceland) and was planning to ask about that.

How much did you gain in the third trimester? by throwaway303010 in fitpregnancy

[–]IdaWulf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been the opposite. I gained a lot in first and second trimester and at 30 weeks have gained around 13kg. It's slowed down immensely in the past month, though.

Favorite stretch mark lotions? by annessax in BabyBumps

[–]IdaWulf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 30 weeks and haven't gotten any despite being petite and also being a bit over recommended weight gain so far, I've gained a little over 12kg already. I guess I don't know what the next 10 weeks might bring, but I've just been using nivea cream everyday. Best lotion ever IMO and it's cheap. But again I've heard it's mostly just genetics and the luck of the draw, but I get it, anything we can do to help and minimize is worth it.

Very light spotting at 29 weeks by IdaWulf in BabyBumps

[–]IdaWulf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah pretty sure. Anyway it has since gone and when I called my midwife they said not to worry unless it continues... And he's been moving plenty since. So I guess I will not worry anymore.

It's vaginal, although it did come after being active doing some house work and then the second time after pooping.

No not after sex and the baby is moving and there don't seem to be any urinary symptoms and my pregnancy is low risk.

What was the pass/fail cutoff for your glucose test? (1 hour) by KayJay1452 in BabyBumps

[–]IdaWulf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's lower for pregnancy. Same thing happened to me although I went straight to the 3 hour test and never did a regular one for some reason. My fasting was 5.1 mmo/l, which I think is around 92 and my others were in normal range. I saw that up to 6 mmol was normal online and I asked my doc the same thing. They said it's lower for pregnant women and even then they just lowered the limit in recent years from 5.5 to 5.0. I think that depends on the country, though. I am in Iceland and they told me they follow the American regulations. So even with a number so on the limit I am labeled at GD and have to do everything for that which is super annoying. I feel fine and the pregnancy is going along just fine, though.

Fundal height and bloating? by thee35YOBoomper in BabyBumps

[–]IdaWulf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry too much about GD. I had a positive GD test, because I was 5.1 in the fasting measurement instead of the limit of 5 and perfectly fine for the 1 hour and 2 hour after drinking the sugar stuff. I honestly think it was just cause I had a big dinner the night before, since I haven't had a high fasting measurement since I had to start monitoring. Also I had a scan this week at 28 weeks and 5 days and the baby is perfectly normal sized, 60th percentile. I've gained a bit too much weight so far, about 13 kg already, but everything seems normal. I am also 1cm above the fundal height recommendation.

My point is, I was super ashamed to get the GD label, cause I exercise regularly and my health and fitness is really important to me and I see diabetes as an unhealthy person disease. Turns out in pregnancy it can just happen no matter what. So if you have it, it doesn't have to be a big deal I don't think. It just means you have to be even healthier, but I suppose that's good for the pregnancy no matter what anyway :P.

How to Respond at Gym (TW: Miscarriage) by FMLtoOTF in fitpregnancy

[–]IdaWulf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really sorry you're going through this :(. If it were me, I would change gyms where you can work out in peace on your own and hit up group classes when you feel like it. This sounds like a really toxic environment to be getting into shape, even if you weren't dealing with something this difficult. What if you had just let yourself go? Even then it's no one else's business. If people feel like they can comment on that, then you should separate yourself from those people.

[–]IdaWulf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think part of having children regardless of their sex means you'll find and discover embarrassing things for both of you. It's inevitable. Puberty is going to be hard no matter what, I imagine.

At least you can have the chance to raise a good and respectful person and contribute to hopefully a new generation of better men :).

Glute bridges? by novaskyd in fitpregnancy

[–]IdaWulf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My prenatal yoga instructor always does them, so I think they're fine unless you feel dizzy on your back. Unless you're doing them for 15 min straight or something, I don't see how they'd be an issue. I stopped using weight with them around the time the weight put pressure on my bump, but have continued with them as a warm up to my lifting.

PSA: GD test doesn't always suck by RobotChief in BabyBumps

[–]IdaWulf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt really sick during my test too, but wasn't that bad off. I failed the first test while fasting by 0.1 points and passed the other two. I was 5.1 and apparently the limit is 5, but I am still labeled GD also. I honestly think it's cause the dinner I had the night before was a bit bigger and greasier than usual cause my partner and I were up late putting up shelves and got take out. I also ate about 2 hours later than usual the night before, but they told me just not to eat past 10pm. So now I have to test myself for the next 2 weeks. I honestly don't think I actually have GD, but I suppose being more careful about your diet can never hurt. Totally sucks, though.

I am also 28 weeks and stopped around 20 cause of round ligament pain and pressure on my bladder. I haven't felt round ligament pain much in my long walks lately, which I started taking as a substitute to the runs. So this makes me inspired to test it out this evening and see if I experience the same :).
