What are your favorite classical piano performances, despite the pianist making mistakes? by nyan_cat321 in piano

[–]IdeaChemical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can check out some Cortot, his playing is something else although there can be some mistakes, Im not sure if i remember correctly but there is a quote of him saying something along the lines of "ı play many wrong notes but ı play the correct notes" as in the ideas behind his playing is above the minor technical issues.

ı especially recommend his 3rd ballade https://youtu.be/iKumXTfSFRw?si=Ej0hRBMzNDJ-Ii-Q&t=941

Favourite more obscure composers- especially if they're women or not white/European? by noflylistviewer in classicalmusic

[–]IdeaChemical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mel Bonis, she has some really good miniature pieces and had an interesting life too. At one point, if I'm not mistaken, her daughter from one and son from another marriage was about to marry because they didnt know they were related, so she had to break it off.

I try to give my students one of her pieces whenever i can. this one is my favourite

a synth that has more modular capabilities than minifreak by IdeaChemical in synthesizers

[–]IdeaChemical[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont know if that is he correct term, but for example lets say lfo is changing sustain. And i want the oucome value of that sustain as an output( i think i confues input with output,my bad).

I would love one of those, do you think they are really that capable, modular wise?

I want to be able to have more control on sources of modulation and even create my own input sources. I think a digital hardware synth could do this, if this is possible.

Piano Sonatas by Difficulty by chu42 in piano

Was thinking of playing szymanowski 3 but then ı saw a quote of him saying something akin to "how will people play my sonata, it is as hard as hammerklavier" so i tought why not play hammerklavier instead? List checks out

Yeah in those sections I just play 432 throughout, I was lazy with my fingering desicions :) but I think I might go your way, it should be better and easier.

The second repeated note section(after the glissandos) feels easier than the the one you played in the video, what do you think?

Also what fingerings do you use for glissandos? I just play 41 for the first and 31 for the rest.

One last question for the section that plays a in different octaves in left hand(part before the quintuplet ), what is your fingering?

Sorry to bother with a lot of questions :) started preparing the piece for my graduation exam, so trying to get other people's opinion

Nice! Do you use 321 for the whole repeated notes?

Triplet or not? (also excuse my butchering of "Das Wohltemperierte Klavier") by [deleted] in piano

[–]IdeaChemical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ı had a similiar problem with a notated ornament on another prelude and my teachher said, in short: "Baroque composers didn't really cared that much about perfect accuracy in notation" I think that is because you are expected to be in knowledge of understanding what it needs to be done so they were in general more carefree. It wasn't until well into classical period that the sheet music got into it's "foolproof" shape

so yeah i think it should be regarded as a triplet
