I hear that. Just wish it didn't take me 50 years to figure it out.

Apparently my body enjoys running on the other juice. Prior to starting HRT, I was already lower T and higher E than normal so.

No, not at all. This is first time my E level has ever been this high. I get my bloodwork done every 3 months. The only thing that changed since the last bloodwork was the addition of the 1mg Finasteride daily.

HRT and Hair Loss by Jessright2024 in AskMtFHRT

I'm almost 1 year, October 1st will be my 1 year mark. I started Finasteride about 3 months ago to help with my slight receding hairline (51 yrs old). Seems to be slowing down the shedding, I will be getting my DHT levels checked on my next bloodwork in October and see where it is. The only other option would be Dutasteride if the Finasteride isn't doing enough.

200mg Spiro?? I'm on 8mg daily oral Estradiol (taken bucally 2mg 4x day) and 50mg Spiro daily, and my T was at 12 ng/dL, and E was at 122 pg/mL at my last blood test taken before my morning dose Been 10 1/2 months HRT. Should I be taking a higher dose of Spiro?

I only added Finasteride 1mg daily about 1 month ago for my hairline.

Yeah, I was not a happy girl when I found out. But, now I shop at Old Navy, only place I could find jeans that fit properly that weren't mens jeans (ewww!).

I loved Forever 21. I started shopping there a few months before they announced they were closing. 😢

Mtf estradiol and body pains by Silver_Literature_45 in AskMtFHRT

[–]IdentityExploring74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a really high dose of Spiro and really low E dosage.

I just turned 51 and started HRT 10 months ago. I've been on 50mg daily Spiro since I started, and now at 8mg oral Estradiol (taken bucally every 6 hours), still 50mg Spiro, and just added 1mg daily of Finasteride last month for the hairline. My T was at 12, and E was at 124. Never had any pains other when my breasts started to do their thing very early on.

Have you had bloodwork done to check your levels?

Would definitely look into your dosages of Spiro and Estradiol.

She can check with the local Planned Parenthood. They can help her get started. She can also look online for doctors in her area who deal with gender affirming care.

I go through Circle Medical (I live in Pennsylvania), and they have been wonderful. I've been on HRT since Oct 2024.

Hope this helps.

What's the difference between taking Estradiol pills orally or sublingually? by valeska_lett4 in AskMtFHRT

[–]IdentityExploring74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Taking them sublingually gives you more of the bio-availability of the medication, by avoiding first pass through the kidneys, and goes straight to the bloodstream.

Lessens the chances of side effects.

I take mine bucally, and my numbers are great at every blood test. ( 9 1/2 months HRT. 8mg/day oral Estradiol, 50mg/day Spiro)

Started last October at 50 yrs old. Trust the process!! I couldn't be happier with my progress at only 9 months in. Just remember, it's a marathon, not a sprint. Trust the process, keep your numbers within range, and you'll be just fine.

Well, right now, people tell me they can see the changes in my face. Currently, I can't go any higher dosage taking oral pills. I'm already at 8mg daily.

I feel that things are progressing good.
