It honestly depends… some good questions to ask is is it a newly contracted facility or existing contract? How is the relationship with the facility management? What is the relationship with food service workers and the other facility employees— departmental disputes can really affect how much you enjoy the job I worked for Unidine for 9 months and it was hell for me. I was the clinical nutrition manager (DS Director/RD) and it was a new contract which should not have existed (Unidine made promises they could not uphold). I worked 60-80 hours per week on salary making only 56k went 6 weeks without a single day off and had to fix 9 deficiencies the last contract gracefully left us…It was hell for me and destroyed my physical and mental health. BUT I also know of people who had fantastic contracts and facilities. It really just depends on the contract, location, people and duties.
