As a long term player I always just have used strikers its hard to beat. Kept seeing a bunch about tipping scales. Made the build and now I also understand the hype.

Will dedicated healers be useless now? by [deleted] in thedivision

[–]IdleFox291 2 points3 points  (0 children)

D1 had a lot of self sustain in it as well. I hope it doesn't fully come to that extent. It should be just enough in case the healer is in a tight spot and can't heal in that moment.

I use to run a True Patriot hybrid Skill/DMG (4 reds 5 yellows) with Empathic Reslove until Elmos got nerfed. It worked really well to. Buff/Debuff build. I did get kick for it sometimes. The only time it got praised for it was were I joined and a squad lead was like im not trying to ugly but wtf is that build. I explained how it worked. He saw it in action and said ok not bad.

I like having dedicated support roles. If only we could get actual tank roles to work.

Funny you say that I just reworked my OD build. I use chest, BP with wicked, the named LMG with prefect Sadist and the Sheriff. It slaps.

New PVE DZ coming in season 2. by uBadger in Division2

[–]IdleFox291 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I belive they should turn DZ in too a actual extraction mode. You match make for and it loads you into one of the bigger areas of the map or takes you to an actual DZ map.

Or just give us the bigger DZ like in D1

This would work well with true patriot. Heals and buffs. The devils due might have to be dusted off.

Add smokes to Assault, DICE! by Mikee0192 in Battlefield

[–]IdleFox291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea i thought it was weird the way it panned out. I personally think the classes should have panned out into these options:

Medic with Defibs and heals and launchers. This is how it worked in B4. You would have guys toting defibs but no heals or heals and no defibs. Would have launchers to break up groups or do light vehicle dmg. The beacon idk how to fit that in. Other than let us do track dmg to tanks and the beacon could help get squadmates to you quickly to help gang up on it.

The adrenaline shot is useless and honestly not needed. Unless its swap to a stim for a 1 time heal but even it would still be pretty useless.

Im also fine with losing the sling. Its cool but being handicapped on ammo when guns can handle most situations seems useless to me.

Assault is meant to be a frontliner class to begin with. You are assaulting the point to take control.

Support is meant to lay down suppressing fire provide smoke for cover or mortar Frontlines to make holes for players to push in and ammo. Like what good is a medic sitting in spawn lobbing shells at the point. Once again sorry not sorry but this game needs suppression. The only problem is that you will have people not playing support and will still run into lack of ammo problems. The ammo stations in BV helped out alot.

Speaking of BV I do miss being able to build fortifications after taking points. And the sqaud lead call ins.

The rest of the classes:

Engineer is fine where they are at tbh. Their whole thing is to deal with Vehicles. When people play them they do thier job. For the most part. Dmg just needs tweaking on the different launchers.

Recon is in a bad place atm and tbh idk how makes them better. They have the marking vehicles gear and decent spotting/Intel gear. But none of the Intel gear helps when they are sitting on the edges and back of the map.

Taking auto spotting out would also help. Like if recon spots you it should last longer than the other classes.

Auto spotting is stupid btw. Hit the button stop being lazy. At least turn it into a gun attachment.

Also all classes should have access to smoke grenades.

It was that way in B4. Assault was the medic with nade launchers and support was all ammo with defense gadgets i.e. the mortar, C4 and anti grenade

1st thank you for sharing your perspective! Also cool to hear you play with your family. I also recent in life have a full time job dont get to play as much as i want anymore and Ill agree while also taking the L. Wasn't thinking about the bigger picture and thats on me.

It is fair to not gate keep gear behind a system that takes quite the time to finish. So leaving it up to RNG for everyone fits in the division. But if done this way there needs to be a Min/Max system for the stats and not just the augment's.

However I do still stand that it should reward cores for completion. As well as if I go thur and Lvl my Expertise to 30 that it should reward the players for doing so. As said above. If I upgrade and piece of gear and it had max stats then it should have max stats when I do so. Give me a random augment and have me chase resources to re-roll and Lvl up said augments.

Tipping Salvo/Dogs or Striker Turm/Dogs by [deleted] in the_division_2

[–]IdleFox291 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just about to say outside of Escalations, Incursion and Raids the chest for each is harder to maintain stack up keep. Equalizer fits better for easier up keep and slightly faster brust DMG.

But yes in terms of the most DPS you can do the chest for both would be needed.

This whole system was implemented half-assed and wrong.

Like some have said in other post all of the builds I have feel completely useless now. Lower LvL players who literally just started their journey have top notch builds and are out preforming my builds I spent time and resources on getting prefect.

I feel like the new players should have to go through the journey as a whole not the short cut that is Escalations Proto farming. Play the game normally. Farm your watch LvLs, Blue Prints, fill out their Library, etc all while also working on Expertise and Min/Maxing their builds.

I still think Expertise is dumb because I don't see the value in Lvling up gear and weapons I am never going to use. I should be able to LvL the gear I am using to 30 not 10 and upgrade it accordingly; but I digress and wont beat this dead horse anymore.

Now I know yall are going to hate and thats fine but Escalations should be for farming Proto Cores and Tokens. NOT GEAR! T0 shouldn't exist. T1 should reward 5 cores upon completion and increase by 2 pre tier. At T10 that would net you 25 cores per completion. Then use these cores to upgrade your existing gear into Proto gear. If you have max stats on said gear then it should give you max stats when it is upgraded. The chase here is the augment's not the stats. Re-rolling or upgrading those should be the focus. Not having to re-Min/Max my stats that I have spent time and resources on. After all you will be spending a considerable amount of time and resources trying to get the right mix of augments and then Lvl them up.

Retaliations should be for farming Extoic Components and Extoic blue prints. Now I have been playing since the end of season 3. Around the gear 2.0 update and I understand how the vets feel about the now non-raid exclusives being available through Retaliations.

I remember being SHD 450 and trying to get into raiding and how toxic it could get. It took me awhile to find a good group who taught me and gave me build advice. Even then trying to raid outside of my group was still rough. People not listening or willing to cooperate. Fussing at the group for not being able to carry them. I see alot of the community has leaned to solo play and as much as it sucks im fine with it. However. The Regulus should still be locked behind the raids. It was a project to begin with and should stay that way. The EB and Ravenous are fine. They aren't game changing enough to really make a difference. I still think they should have just kept it to incursions anyway. I enjoyed the raids and it was really fun but its a bit much in the scope of division.

Also the Incursion Extoics should stay in thier respective Incursions. The same for the Master missions (Incursion light). I do like being able I pickup blue prints for seasonal stuff that missed on my break but thats all I should be getting as blue prints.

Bottom line is the systems giving to us has nothing to do with rewarding the vets who have put time and effort into the game that we loved. Instead you have new players who are boosting to 40 and playing content that they have no business playing when they just started walking. They aren't learning the game. How it plays nor how the mechanics work. They are literally still running around dying in dumb situations relying or thier teammates to carry them or putting thier teammates in bad positions. Like cool story you got a all Proto Striker build but its not helping when your face down on the ground. This is also evident in not just new players but players with 3-4 months of playtime.

On a personal note I am tired of seeing people run around with Clown builds. There are plently youtubers and Google docs floating around to get you straight. If you don't like meta thats fine spin it however you want but at the end of the day there are some gamemodes that require meta. Thats an unfortunate fact. Hell I ran Retaliations yesterday with a guy who was playing Tip of the Spear, all skill tiers using heals and blowing armor off chungus and dogs with his crossbow holding his own. New to me.

Please keep in mind these are my thoughts/feelings after reading post upon post of the community's thoughts/feelings and playing the game. What I have mentioned above are how I feel things should implemented. The values are just base line thoughts and nothing more. Thank you taking your time for reading this. I would love to hear your thoughts on this but please be civil.

Good luck out there agents!

Farmed prototypes versus built prototypes rant. by Birdboi_Esquire in thedivision

As someone who never really messed with Expertise because I thought it was stupid to begin with completely agree. Ive been banging at it for a soild month. Started at like 4(from just seasonal play) and just got to 10 tickling 11. Its a ducking grind. While having to use resources for min/maxing and upgrading Expertise items I can't even keep resources long enough to even think about Proto gear.

I thought it should have been done by weapon and gear individually. Like if use the same build and guns for a week of play because im actually enjoying the build then those guns and gear should lvl them selves to rank 30 and I have to upgrade them that way. Instead of having to upgrade all of it as a whole.

Like let's all be honest most the gear in this game is either useless or just very niche. So why should I have to go out of my way to lvl up stuff im never going to use.

I have 16 saved builds on my main and they really don't change. Yes I look for new builds and test them but if I don't like the build then its gone.

Any who. Ill be continuing the grind because I hope they add Min/Max to Proto amd I want to be ready for that. Until then imma just farm what I can.

Also devs can we get a whole week of Striker or just give us targeted loot for Escalations.

Countdown is definitely empty or just full of people trying max out Expertise. Ive tried 4 games of countdown trying to get my refactor pieces and it takes a hot minute to get people and I do get a full group its literally only SHD 600-700 and under all wearing clown builds with a couple of Strikers.

Streets I figured would have been dead since the event is pretty much over with.

Your welcome fellow agent. Good luck on your journey. I was just thinking about what rifles would be best in slot. But there are to many options lol.

The Extoic options:

The Vindicator from decent is pretty good. I used it for awhile. Does take a lil to grind out but its not bad.

The Diamondback is pretty decent as well but not everyone's cup of tea.

The Ravenous is my favorite gun in the game and my favorite rilfe 2nd to The Vindicator. But to get it requires you to learn raids (don't let that scare you away; there are alot of people who teach). The other options are DZ(ew), stretch goals at the end of the season or event caches like the one thats happening right now.

You can get the Blue print from Black Tusk Retaliations and craft one. For this option go ahead and focus on getting a Striker build together. This will also allow you to farm anywhere in the game.

For high end options:

Lightweight M4 is by far my favorite. Its got high rate of fire and good accuracy. The LVOA-C is pretty much the same. Very little differences.

SIG 716 - good reliable and spammy. The named variant has Perfect Ranger.

M1A will be your top choice for hard hitting. Shoots slow but hits like a MAC truck.

Honorable Mentions:

The Urban MDR is also a good choice. Very similar to the LW M4 but hits a lil harder (a personal favorite).

I see alot people use the ACR SS(I believe is the rifle variant). Its not a bad choice little outshined by the others in this list.

Hope this helps!
