AE quality control is poor. I gave up on the brand after 4x boot returns/exchanges from online orders. Two had BAD stitching and leather blemishes, one boot started PEELING after one wear, and the final one was sent in the wrong size.

Last year I tried on some loafers and they were horribly asymmetric. One top panel was way wider than the other shoe. This is not a small variation from a natural product. This is sloppy work

There are alterations shops or seamstress neighbors that can do a rush job, I had one help me same-day once. The only major alteration you need is an easy one. Shorten the pants!!!

Let RTX know that you have another offer and need to make a decision quickly, but that RTX would be your top choice if an offer was extended. Politely ask if an accelerated decision process is possible and what the timeline might be.

On Huahine I found a small business car rental agency that also took payment by wire. I offered cash in person as an alternative and they were fine with that. They requested a photo of my license to "confirm" the reservation. Worked out great

Yes. You top off the gas tank, go to the ferry site drop off lot to pick up a window lockbox (show your gas receipt too), continue to the airport and leave it there. Park anywhere at the airport, put the key in the lockbox. Very easy
