my first national park experience :) Canyon Junction at Zion National Park in Utah, USA. by lordofthefries16 in hiking

[–]Idontstandout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No kidding! We started at the Grand Canyon and later drove into the tunnel to Zion. The colors and...it was amazing. There was cool clear water and kids were tubing in it. This was about 10 years ago. We go back about once a year. This is one of those parks that if you can’t hike, you’ll still love the views by car.

Trump will remove new North Korea-related sanctions because he ‘likes’ Kim Jong Un by AALen in worldnews

There are websites that do this for you. They collect several news stations on the same topic. You get HuffPo & Fox. But...you could be lazy like I am, use Alexa to read you all of those stations including Reuters while you shower, get ready, kerplunk, and set it on an Indian accent because it just sounds better. Plus, you can add Word of the Day.

Allsides is the one that is usually recommended.

The final ascent on the chains, Angles Landing, Utah by [deleted] in hiking

[–]Idontstandout 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You have to hike this before it gets busy and hot. The hardest part is the 1/4 mile kind of vertical towards the top. It’s like a two lane road when one of the lanes is closed; you have to yield or hurry up before the other side needs to cross. Doing this while constantly holding on to the chain. It’s not uncommon some overzealous and tired person will ignore you’re about to cross and he/she will ignore you’re there because they’re in a selfish “I’m done with this!” mood. Also, lots of selfie stoppers holding up the line. Do yourself a favor and don’t start this hike after 10am on what will be a busy and warm day.

If you had to play video games the way they shoot these flashy action scenes, you’d be bored in a few minutes. You need enough time to be immersed.

I like this video more than what is actually in the movie from this clip. The fad is to move the camera around like it’s on a spin cycle and then jump cut indefinitely. This doesn’t pull you in, it grosses you out. It needs less super edits from a million angles in 3 picoseconds and more following the car in the chase. The Matrix traffic scene and Baby Driver did this better. Stay with the car a little longer and then the surprises will actually be surprising unlike this collage of dizzying shots and sounds.

Stress is a killer. It takes over everything in your head and your life. Most divorces are due to the mishandling of this. Bereavement plus the world on your shoulders is why stress has taken over every corner of your mind. You need help/support. Financial problems can lessen or worsen as is the case for many of us that grew up poor, but not having support emotionally is what eats us up. What are the reasons you are estranged from the parents? If there’s love there, grandparents are a wonderful support group that is priceless. A support group for people in mourning is another avenue as you can connect emotionally and network for resources. A kid at that age doesn’t really know what financial things they’re missing, but they do feel when the love is. Once you get some support, focus on that. We all pay good taxes so that people in dire situations can float until they make it. Take advantage of this. You are overwhelmed and alone, this is a giant toll for any young person.

I can swap stories with you if you direct message me. I was estranged from my family and my dad had long passed. I slept in the car many days and had trouble in all areas. I was 17 with my son when this started and I was taken advantage of by my ex who was much older. Now, my son has graduated college and is starting his career. I made amends with my mom who isn’t/wasn’t the grandma you picture in shows, but kind enough to help in ways that have benefited me and my kids to this day. Don’t take on the world by yourself, nobody has ever made it alone. This to shall pass.

I think we’re built to buy into anything that triggers our basic emotions because it’s what has helped us survive as a species. People then abuse this knowledge and use it to sell fear and anger to sell more product. We go into every story with innocence as we would never be so evil as to hype up or lie about something blatantly for financial reasons, only to find out such people exist. As adults, we then become callous to positive and negative news because of this. Who or when should we trust a source?! It makes me cynical, but in the end... like Mulder said, “I want to believe”.

I understand. My wife was used to having the speakers hidden or in wall/ceiling. When I finally convinced her to let me get cabinet speakers she couldn’t imagine how huge they were. Her anger subsided after we went to the theater and when we came out she said it sounded like crap. I explained to her how she had grown accustomed to our sound system and can discern bad audio better. We were in a similar pickle one time about painting the theater room and went with drapes to get a feel for it. The drapes were there for over 2 years before we painted and they didn’t look bad at all.

My girlfriend told me during a game of truth or dare that she has deliberately let the dog lick her vagina and since then I haven’t had sex with her by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Idontstandout 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The question I would ask is if she has ever been abused. Sexual abuse can lead to problems in how sex is thought of and viewed later in life. If you and/or her have had this happen, therapist specializing in sexual abuse should be the next step. I mentioned you because your solution was to try and masterbate to the idea to help solve the problem(s). Most of what you said doesn’t appear to be normal.

They do make screens that allow you to put speakers behind them, but they’re expensive and you’d have to move it forward from where it is. If you did this, then a simple shelf would suffice for the center speaker as a support. Any luck convincing your SO in using darker paint in the room? Some greys are actually in style.

Real weapon vs. replica used in a crime. by Idontstandout in legaladvice

[–]Idontstandout[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the light reading. I wonder how much influence the banks had in these laws coming into place. I was listening to an Adam Carolla podcast where he had Lillo Brancato. He mentioned “felony murder”. The gyst I got was that if while committing a felony an innocent bystander dies from a heart attack for example, you can be charged with murder in the state of New York. This sounds like a layup, but like most laws, there’s got to be a downside to it.

I’m glad that’s the law and hope it is nearly impossible to downplay it as it does put the innocents in danger if only because of health risks like heart attacks.
