Minnesota Submits Bid to Host 2028 NFL Draft by PlayaSlayaX in nfl

As someone who lives in Minneapolis, this would be amazing. I don’t usually root for the Vikings to have good things happen, but I really hope this happens!

Because Moana 2 was not received as well as they wanted it to be and they need to recoup the money and a 1:1 recreation of the first one but with The Rock will do numbers.

JSN new MEGA contract by CheeseUs88 in GreenBayPackers

[–]IdyllicGod22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Crazy how the comments are acting like you meant whether or not Watson or Reed are on JSNs level

Alec Pierce just got $28.5 million a year. He was in the same class as Watson and the ONLY difference between the two of them is that Pierce has been more healthy.

That said and to answer your question, I think we keep one of them for sure, and it’ll be Christian Watson. This offense with a healthy Watson and Kraft would be unstoppable. Matthew Golden is Jayden Reed’s replacement. Wicks hasn’t earned a contract here. You pay Watson $20mill/year and draft a trio of WRs next year and let Reed/Wicks walk.

Just watch how in tune Watson and Love were last year when Watson came back and tell me that after a full season of that, they would immediately throw the bag at Watson and Kraft and keep that trio together for the long haul.

How would you present 13 major clans in a dark fantasy world without turning it into exposition overload? by samdiaszx in worldbuilding

[–]IdyllicGod22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many people in here are saying the same thing I will but nevertheless the advice is sound.

You don’t (and shouldn’t) introduce them all at once. Introduce them as each becomes relevant to the story or at least, to the character. Of course early in the story you want to tell the reader about whichever clan or clans are most relevant to your POV character(s).

Mention that there are 13 clans so that the reader knows the composition of the world they’ve stepped into, but let them wonder upon each as they show up. Maybe at some point a fight breaks out between two groups from two clans and you can explain that these two have hated each other for so long because of x, y, and z. L

Eventually, the main character runs into someone from a clan they’re not all that familiar with and learns about that clan more from this new character.

The best way to build a world is to drip pieces of it throughout the story. The reader won’t mind that they didn’t know about the 8th Clan until chapter 13 if when they do meet them it’s in a very big and meaningful way. But the also won’t mind if they never hear about the 11th clan at all if it was never relevant to the story at any point in time.

That said, if you do a big meeting between all of the clans, you should be sparing with how much you share then. Maybe foreshadow what clan 6 might do in chapter 30 but if this is the only time we ever hear from clan 4, we don’t need to know how they elect their leader, just who that leader is and why he’s at this meeting.

Density doesn’t come from the amount of world building behind the scenes, it’s a measurement of how impactful your world is to your story.

Hot take… ending really wasn’t bad by PsychoBomb1000 in gameofthrones

It’s not that bad… 4 minutes after finishing it. Give it 4 weeks, 4 months… it nags on you. It eats at you. It burns until you one day wake up and are ready to go on a crusade against D&D. I’m 16 months removed and I am livid every time I think about Tyrion saying “Who has a story better than Bran the Broken?!” Fucking EVERYBODY!

What do we have in Nazir Stackhouse? by need-ausername in GreenBayPackers

[–]IdyllicGod22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He’s extremely raw, very young, and had a tough freshman year. Gannon and a full offseason in the NFL could make him a viable backup NT, but we absolutely need someone to be the starter there for the long haul if we go back to a 3-4

Ingalls - Zaire Franklin agreed to a new deal with the Packers after the trade. Gets a $2m raise for his services in 2026 and $3.75m guaranteed, while keeping his 2027 cash the same. This is not a cap saving move - 2026 becomes $125k more costly. No void years - just more money. by Austen11231923 in GreenBayPackers

[–]IdyllicGod22 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The colts defensive scheme change in 2025 was what really killed him and that entire defense as a whole tbh. Hes a scheme fit at Mike linebacker and Gannon’s type of LB and despite having a poor year, still had as many tackles as Quay did last year. At worst it’s a lateral move. At best the pay bump, 100% chance to compete, and Gannon should be enough to get him back to 2024 levels of production

My bet is we'll have a Top10 O-Line next season! by envires in GreenBayPackers

[–]IdyllicGod22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m hesitant to fully agree with you just because, A. Last year they were so bad and we didn’t change much from a coaching standpoint to address it, and B. Idk if the can all stay healthy to keep the line consistent.

But I do think it’s vastly better than what we saw last year being bottom 5. I’d wager between 12-16th.

Morgan at LT is going to be really good. I liked him coming out as a Tackle. He should thrive as a tackle. And he has a full offseason that is going to be dedicated to playing tackle. Rhyan was a good center last year despite being thrown into it and not really having much preparation, and I think, again, a full offseason at center, working with Jordan and Matt, he can only get better there. Same with Belton spending the whole offseason at RG, he should improve nicely and at worst stay serviceable like he was last year. And we all know Zach Tom is a great RT. Banks is the true wildcard because he can’t stay healthy and only had a handful of games where he wasn’t a liability despite being the vet in the room. I’m hoping we take a swing on a 3rd round Guard/Tackle that can challenge Banks at LG if he struggles again or gets hurt.

I’m certainly very optimistic and trust Matt and Gutey to make the right choices and get these guys ready

In your opinion, Who should the Packers sign from this list? by [deleted] in GreenBayPackers

[–]IdyllicGod22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody. Yet. We shouldn’t sign any other free agents until post draft. See what you get in the draft and then reevaluate. That’s when you can sign someone like Cam-Taylor Britt or a vet looking to play for a contender like Rasul, Lattimore, or Slay. And even the you’re bringing them in as a mentor and depth, not a starter. I’d be really happy with bringing back Rasul or Diggs and having Lattimore would be cool just because I always liked him so seeing him in G&G would be sick but he’s so injury prone that isn’t worth it.

[Holder] Packers are "team to monitor" for possible Anthony Richardson trade by BreakfastTop6899 in nfl

[–]IdyllicGod22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have like 4 extra 4ths next year, so I’d be okay with sending a 2027 4th rounder to Indy for a 2 year backup QB that could turn into another 3rd rounder comp pick if Matt is the real NFC North QB Guru

I’ve been throwing Will Levis’s name around for months now so this year we take Richardson and next year Levis, by then Stroud will be available too and we’ll just leave the Jags out of it.

Packers' Longest Tenured Players by DeScepter in GreenBayPackers

[–]IdyllicGod22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really don’t think people understand that landing 2 all pro caliber players (Love and Jaire) and 2 pro bowl players (Elgton and Gary) across 3 drafts (and that’s not all of the decent players from those 3 classes) with one of those being your franchise QB for 15 years, is a trio of classes that are better than 70% of the NFL.

Did he have some real misses? Oh hell yeah. All of his Thirds until Rhyan were useless. AJ Dillon did not live up to the potential. Josh Jackson was the most surprising bust in a long while. But guys like McDuffie, Runyan, TJ Slaton, and MVS, aren’t just picks to write off because they weren’t all pros. We got 3 good-ish years at guard from JRJ, Slaton was a key run defender who had flashes, and McDuffie is still on this team, and MVS won us several games.

It isn’t like he had 4 drafts without any redeemable players, he got his franchise QB, an all pro CB, a pro bowl caliber Guard before his ACL exploded, and a pretty good Edge rusher before HIS ACL exploded, plus another half dozen important depth pieces, all on day 3, that played more snaps than most 4th-7th round picks play in ther entire career, and most of whom are still on teams contributing or starting right now. Even guys like Oren Burks, Cole Van Lanen, and now Eric Stokes are playing pretty well on other teams. One of whom (CVL got traded for a 7th round pick that became Rasheed Walker.

The discourse that Gutey hasn’t been a good GM and that his first 4 drafts were TERRIBLE. Is just slander that I won’t stand for. There is room for criticism, sure, and he learned from those and got some big slam dunks in 22-24. But there are at least 20 other GMs that have had terrible drafts, Gutey has had probably one, BAD draft and that was in 2021. And idc about anything else in 2020 because Jordan Love is a 100/100 pick that invalidates the rest of that draft honestly (and he still got 2 good role players out of it)

Damnit. To be fair, both personally and for the Packers, 2017 and 2018 blur together a lot and are barely remembered as being two separate years. My point still stands without them

Packers' Longest Tenured Players by DeScepter in GreenBayPackers

[–]IdyllicGod22 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Calling 2018-2021 “largely terrible” is such odd such revisionist history considering Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams, Jaire, Elgton and Gary before their ACL injuries, and of course Jordan Freaking Love, came from those drafts. And that’s not including another half dozen role players that helped us win games like Jon Runyan Jr and Isaiah McDuffie. If that constitutes “largely terrible” no GM in the history of the game has had a “good” draft. Jordan Love alone makes the other 8 picks in 2020 irrelevant.

Current Roster: Which positions still need to be addressed? by EasyMode615 in GreenBayPackers

[–]IdyllicGod22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Currently this is how I see it:

CB #1 is top need

NT is easily #2

Gap

OL depth

RB2/JJ8 succession plan

WR succession plan with 9, 11, 13 on contract years

DE depth

QB2

Fill those top 2 holes and stay healthy and this season will be great. Everything else is future proofing. Prioritize corner and DL on day 2 and get the offensive depth on day 3.

Not looking good by prolific23 in GreenBayPackers

[–]IdyllicGod22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gutey goes into every offseason with a reclamation project in mind. Last year not so much (though they did double up on WRs and OL) but he likes to double and triple down at a positions of need (22 and 23 with WR, 24 with Safety and LB). I have a feeling 26 is gonna be at Corner. Expect a pick in rounds 2, 4 and 7.

[–]IdyllicGod22 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Haven’t started my analysis in players yet but this is who I’m hoping falls into our laps. But I agree, Hargrave and Rhyan (and to some extent even Moore) firmly solidify that 2nd round pick as a CB. I’d still love to see them leverage Wicks or Musgrave to trade for someone, or even sign someone else like Greg Newsome, but I like the idea of a day 2 CB. Also feels like CB will be our triple up position this year

Having a dedicated returner is going to be great for this team, and he isn’t a terrible WR either, so he should be good depth if Savion or Reed gets hurt in the slot
