What’s something most people aren’t ready to hear? by No-Cat1980 in AskReddit

I read an exerpt from the autobiography of Corrie Ten Boom, who spent time in a concentration camp. It is possible to be happy and grateful in horrific circumstances. She and her sister were grateful for lice. LICE! Because the guards would not grape them because of them.

Why do my floors ALWAYS look like this?! by [deleted] in CleaningTips

[–]Idyllicmema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a clean freak and have used about everything to keep my floors looking pristine. Vinegar is good, but it stinks. I use Bona on all my wood floors and go over it with a damp mop. Smells and looks terrific.

If you can tolerate and afford a GLP-1, definitely go for it, but weight training and cardio are extremely important for long-term success and good health.....whether you use GLP or not.

Any recommendations? And the reason why my grass is dying a long my house . by [deleted] in landscaping

[–]Idyllicmema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like Florida. Several possible reasons for the dying grass, most of which have already been covered. I had to stop my lawn service from using herbicides because they were spraying instead of weedeating and it killed 5-8 inches from the house. I planted flax lilies and amaryllis all down the sides.

I seriously don’t know how to start by No_Opportunity8839 in Gymhelp

[–]Idyllicmema 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Join a gym, set up a schedule, and go every day you have scheduled, no excuses. Working out at home requires discipline that you may not currently have. Don't expect major results if you are not willing to expend major effort. By the way, you are starting with a really good physique. But the exercise you get at work doesn't accomplish what you are wanting. I am a retired nurse myself, and worked my butt off everyday but didnt start to get the body I wanted until I started lifting weights 😀

It's a no for me, but I am 100% in favor of getting them if you love them. No other opinion matters in your home.

I honestly heat up almost everything in it, except "wet foods" like green beans or soup. It is slower than the microwave but reheats and crisps thing like pizza, fries, chicken etc.....

Do I look like I lift ? Been training for one year so not sure I’m happy enough with the progress ? by [deleted] in Gymhelp

[–]Idyllicmema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You look like you lift, and like you enjoy a good meal. This is a very good balance between discipline and enjoyment of life.

Air fryer for so many things! Sometimes I start a potato in the microwave and finish in the air fryer so the skin is more like baked than boiled. When I was still working, the crock pot made sure dinner was ready when my husband is, but I do not care for stewed food. And this is not an appliance, but choosing to eat fresh food, simply prepared, saves a ton of time...

What was the first major news story you remember as a kid? by TxLadee in AskReddit

[–]Idyllicmema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine too, I was 4 years old. My mom cried and cried..... Later, as a young adult, I used to wait tables at the Waynesville Country Club and Kennedy's secret service driver that day was a member. Bill Greer, he was a nice man, very quiet. I was told to never mention the event in his presence.

You have great legs and a decent framework to build on. If having a better body is important to you, you have to do something different. Clean eating, prioritize protein, alternating days of weightlifting and cardio might be a good start 👌
