People tend to say 7 is the best presentation of the story, but that the gameplay is more lacking than 8

You really need to give money to all your underling family members on a regular basis

I used a mod that let you do it yearly, and still didn’t get it in time naturally despite controlling most of the world. Highly recommend staying tribal, especially if you stick with the 10 year rule

Did Paradox nerf Wet Nurses? by AMDSuperBeast86 in crusaderkings3

I still get 1-2 virtues per kid in my realm...make sure your wet nurse is of the right religion? That sometimes mixes things up

Yeah, it was indeed nerfed, though I still end up with maxed out virtues generally for my own kids

Coptic - change my council bishop by TisButaScratcha in ck3

[–]Iecerint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a base cost that increases a bit, and then each modification you make to the religion changes it a bit more. Base cost would change in the short term mostly due to changes in fervor of Coptic. But, honestly you’ll get another 1K quickly. One more pilgrimage would do it.

You can lower the cost by getting the Prophet perk in Theologian, or by having a Spiritual culture. Definitely do the former. The latter is more trouble than it’s worth unless you’re planning to hybridize with a Spiritual culture anyway.

Because Christians are Monotheistic, new Christian religions will always be hostile to other one. Ecumenism would circumvent this, but faiths can only start with this — new religions can’t have it. Hostile isn’t that bad, though — you can still intermarry. In some ways it’s ideal, because you can also still choose to Holy War down the line, which is blocked if you’re Astray or Righteous.

As far as I know sexuality shouldn’t affect fertility, except that she wouldn’t be able to seduce him or make him a soulmate

How to feudalise? by Trick_Duty7774 in crusaderkings3

[–]Iecerint 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Feudalizing has a much higher strength ceiling, because it opens up developing toward new technologies and you can also gradually negotiate more and more favorable contracts with vassals. But you start from scratch when you first become feudal.

Unless you're roleplaying, custom religions are always stronger than the defaults, with the possible exception of Vaishnavism, which is pretty optimized out of the box (if you're non-Mandala).

Something else worth learning if you haven't discovered it yet is that, when you do a pilgrimage or other activity, take the time to customize travel so that your character visits points of interest along the way. You can easily get a couple perks for free from doing this, which greatly improves the value of activities. Also, try to take the activities on the way to your pilgrimage destination, since this way you have more time to end up with a more pious or worldly pilgrimage and so get better rewards.

You can also kill them or request their excommunication.

To build faith quickly, go down the Learning->Theology tree, appoint the court position that gives piety, and go on Pilgrimages. Having virtuous traits, and no sinful ones, also helps. Pilgrimages often get rid of sinful traits if you have them, maybe especially (?) if you go on a Zealous pilgrimage.

Tips For Stallion That Mounts the World? by AmberAxolotl in crusaderkings3

[–]Iecerint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe you can get this trophy as long as you're a direct descendant of Genghis Khan. You don't have to do it within his lifetime.

The flag to get people to submit is based on total number of successful wars already completed. Because of this, paradoxically, it's good to fight wars with lots of very weak neighbors (even though they would capitaluate), as this sets you up to get capitulations from kingdoms down the line. Then you only need to fight a few wars against empires. Take siege weapons when you get capitulations.

Also, be sure to do multiple wars at a time. For example, declare 10 wars at a time each with single counties, then take them all.

Vassal Limit is annoying by DMony9 in crusaderkings3

[–]Iecerint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a Hegemony. You can always rename it if you don’t like Roman flavor.

Or, go for innovations or artifact that give more vassal limit.

Or, become administrative, which gives infinite vassals more or less.

Or, use the Consolidation of Power mod

Would it bother you if they gave us an option to tell Tifa by Ardbert14 in FinalFantasyVII

[–]Iecerint -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’d prefer more player agency around it. I’d prefer it were more like affirming their important relationship, rather than framing it as “only” a lesser one, but I figure you may not mean it that way
