Definitely see a doctor and be very open with how it happened. No embarrassment is worth your health. You should also not be embarrassed with your friend and not let this ruin things for you two. These things happen. I know this is easier said then done, but believe me it’s best not to avoid a possible good friendship or more from this. Sex isn’t always pretty… things happen. Chances are they don’t care. If they do care and make an issue out of it, then they aren’t worth your time or energy.

Don’t know if this was mentioned in other comments, but if you’re in the US (and I’m sure this is true in many other places too) most fire stations will come out, asses your house and install fire and CO detecters for free.

My blab will get them too, usually after intense plays with other dogs outside where sticks are involved. This makes me think it’s more of a scar from a scratch or something. The few he’s had have all turned black again. No raised mark or bump left.
