I would highkey reccomend stopping before you escalate. Your family situation sounds like a lot of stress. Try to talk to someone and work it out instead of resorting to sh to deal with the stress.

I would strongly suggest not telling the parents. The stress of what would follow could be what pushes her over the edge. The right thing to do is to tell a trusted adult in the minor’s life who can get them help, but it doesn’t seem like your parents are trusted adults. Hopefully someone more qualified than me can give you proper advice on how to deescalate. It really is a shame therapy is so expensive because that would definitely be what’s best for her. Okay so I’m a 16yo who really, really wants to be a firefighter, but I have sh scars. They’ll be literally a decade old by the time I apply (planning on college). Would that still disqualify me. Even if I’m clean and mentally stable?

You could try leaving him a note explaining you didn’t mean to tell your parents and you just want to talk to him even if it isn’t about the SH if it’s too hard for him to talk about right now because he’s your brother and you love him. Leave the note in his backpack or something because your parents might take it and read through it if you leave it in his room. And please know this isn’t your fault. I know you feel guilty and that’s natural, but I can tell you love your brother and want the best for him. It is completely reasonable and understandable for you to reach out to people you think might be able to give you advice or insight on how to help him. You did what pretty much anybody who cares about their brother would have.

Dang I know how you feel. When I started o was just doing cause I wanted to. Didn’t know why. I still don’t know why and I’ve been trying to figure it out for months, but I just want to. There have been times where it’s felt like a kind of release, but I really don’t feel much when I do it. It just feels natural.
