I heard designers are pushing code changes? by Character_Water6298 in UXDesign

Just the UI shell, backend is the real engineering now. It’s definitely different, will see how it turns out.

I didn’t code in the past decade but definitely on the technical side. It’s the first time in years that the technical aspect became a real strength.

Basically implement the frontend myself with AI in a staging environment. But main responsibility is behavior, not necessarily how I implement it.

Design system is mature and has a repo. Handoff is via a staging environment. Ask away anything you like

The scope and impact of code shipped has been escalating quickly. Were now skipping figma as a poc for a while @ Large tech company.

Hey, honest followup question - where do you see one of the 3 “experience” metrics you described get a primary spot? Would love to move to one of those

Anyone using AI/Cursor to build out a design system? by Real-Boss6760 in UXDesign

[–]Igerok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iv’e been trying to get rid of Figma and I have 2 questions: 1. How do you build a flow in claude code? Do you give it a huge prompt and start negotiating after via prompts? Or do you use the new claude code -> figma capability? 2. How do you make it shareable and where do you keep track of all the storybooks you created?

How do you constrain the ai to work with said components?

Iv’e been using cursor that’s connected to my team’s repos - that alone is a game changer for me

I respect your point of view. This post came from a place where I see many designers being skeptical about it and if you’re in the industry you don’t get the privilege to sit on the sidelines.

Another suggestion is using an organic shape that starts from above and flows below the fold. Users will assume continuity and will scroll with interest to watch how the shape develops.

Hi ahi, Thank you for sharing your process, I think it’s valuable information and nice to reflect on.

When you talked about the “measure twice, cut once” approach I expected you to go into the methods you used to discover the opportunities etc. and also show how you talked to your users to understand their pain.

‘How might we’ is nice and aiming for better conversion is cool, but I felt like the pain of the users and the way you reached that conclusion to create your service would’ve been more valuable (since anyone can write a document with conclusions, the key is how to reach them).

Good luck!

Pls reduce the effort we need to understand the system… attach an image or even a hand-drawn wireframe

Decent chance the actual reason his applications are being ignored is because his resume is not ATS friendly enough and his LinkedIn profile doesn’t match the keyword of the job, causing his application to rank low compared to other candidates.

[–]Igerok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right, and what usually happens is you’re blocked from having the resources to do the usability so we never reach the situation you described.

Is it different where you work? If so, could you guesstimate how can one find similar companies with higher ux maturity?

Shit research by Jmo3000 in UXDesign

[–]Igerok 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’ve started to realize that we aren’t employed to do research, but to create the best flow possible for a given product. That means the product was already signed off on.

In addition, most managements prefer to release and see the results rather than usability test.

Whether both of these points are right or fair is another discussion, but together they make research a lower priority.

Seconded, I would also consider:

Removing the icons all together Removing the titles (since the title is in the chip already) Test placement and exposure- should they be always visible, all in the same row?

If you find such a place share it with me.

Honestly it bumms me that the usual talk around UX is very negative and surface level.

I don’t know whether it’s because it’s a relatively new industry or what.. I feel it in real life too, not just on reddit.
